Chapters (summary)
Chapter 1
In this chapter they tell us the reasons why Ishamel decides to undertake a journey through the wide
sea, in search of earning a living and knowing more about the legend of the white whale .
Chapter 2
Ishmael arrives in New Bredford where he hopes to leave for the island of Nantucket, the old center
for whaling, where he hopes to get a job on a whaling ship. Ismael tries to get a room for the night,
but the innkeeper can only offer him a room that is already occupied. That means you’ll have to
share the bed with a roommate
Chapter 3
Ishmael walks through the streets of the small port city. In the chapel, he hears Father Mapple, an old
harpooner, narrates the biblical story of Jonah, who tries to escape God and is devoured by a whale.

Chapters review
What did you like the most from the chapters? I liked how the story unfolds and how the characters
are discovering more about the mystery of the white whale.
What did you like the least from the chapters? I don’t like that in the book they give a very short to the
characters, this makes you lose interest in them.
