OSV (Offshore Support Vessel) Operations.

How to work with type of vessel they have worked before.
ISM CODE (International Safety Management Code)
What's the point / purpose for ISM..?
Is the management for the safe operation of the ship &
pollution prevention avoid dance
IMPLEMENTATION
To human life, safe place in the moment, safe on company
property, no pollution to environment
ISPS (International ship & port facility security)
- What's the pont / Purpose..?
- Why this ISPS implemented and when ?
- How many level there are ?
Is the procedure of the safe security plan like maintain and
keep restricted area on board using only 1 access door to in
and out, also we have 3 kind of security level : level 1, level 2,
level 3
Level 1 : like minimum appropriate protective security normal
Condition
Level 2 : Means The Level For Which Approriate Additional
Protective security measures shall be maintain with
period
Time like additional watch.
Level 3 :Security which further specific protective security
measures
So no body can not on board from shore or from the
sea.

SSAS (ship security alert system)

In case of emergency like pirates attack we can puss SSAS
bottom so the officer know the situation on board
SOLAS

LIFE SAFING APPLIANCES

Lifeboat, liferaft, lifejacket, lifebuoy, rescue boat, immersion
suit, rocket parasut signal, SART, EPIRB.
LS - FF Equipment.  (LS = life saving equipment - FF > Fire
fighting Equipment).
How many life raft onboard as per SOLAS > 100 % total crew
as per Safety equipment Certificate each side.
How many life jacket onboard as per SOLAS > 100 % total of
crew as per safety equipment Certificate + 20 % minimum
spares.
Inflatable life jackets > 15 sets min. Onboard.
SART. > Search and rescue radar transponder. How many
onboard > two
EPIRB > Emergency position Indicating Radio Beacon > one
onboard.
FIRE FIGHTING
Fire fighting have two type :
Fixed fire extinguisher : co2 system, high expansion foam
system,pressure water / spray system,water cannon
Portable fire extinguisher : foam, dry fowder, dry
chemical,co2,fire blanket

TIDE TABLE
- What is this and what for and how to use it.?
We can use BA chart and the tide table is check position we
can see high water or low water. if does have, we can used
secondary port.
Use local chart and local tide table.
COMPAS ERROR
On port as along said in jetty we can bearing the object that
have on the chart compare with the gyro so can know the
error.
In channel we use leading light, bearing the leading light make
it on one line.with the astronomical bearing like
sun, moon, star, use nautical almanac table when error coming
from steel that from cargo or platform it self that can make
influense to the vessel & compass error = d – v .dev from dev
chart,var.from the chart.
GARBAGE
For food waste 3 miles from shore, material waste oil below
15 ppm, we can drop over 12 miles.
Anchor handling procedure
First thing we have meeting held on board or safety meeting
including discussing all job for all crew so they know there
responsibility.
We have also have anchor handling check list,we check all
equipment.
Discussed with c/e to prepare control station layout anchor
handling drum tugged winch shark jaw, towing pin.
On deck give order to boatswain to check all equipment on
deck like also were shackle 85 tons pelican hook, manual
stopper use for hold the weigh from 10 – 110 tons
Communication vhf working channel must in good
appear,weather forecast,characteristic anchor & buoy,anchor
pattern.
STABILITY
- What information we need before to calculate the
stability ? > Draft, Dencity of Sea Water, total Cargo
onboard or total cargo discharge / offload. , Fresh water
onboard, Fuel Oil onboard stability book etc.
- How to calculate GM ?
- What is the Minimum GM. > 0.15 Meter.
GM=KM-KG TPC = (1,025 X L XB) FWA = displacement
40 TPC
DWA = FWA – (Bj DW / BJ SU-BJFW/BJ FW)

GM=gravity of metacentric KB= center of buoyancy

KG=center of gravity above keel VCB vertical center of
buoyancy.
KM from hydrostatic curve (distance between keel to
metacentric)
MTC = moment to change trim 1 cm
LCF = longitudinal center of flotation
LCB = longitudinal center of buoyancy
TPC = ton per centimeter, how many tones we can loading on
deck as the draft is change 1 cm.
Normal GM = 0,5m
Free surface effex=if the tank have liquid but not full,so that
liquid make much moving, too much rolling is mean loss of
GM or G point become higher.

EQUIPMENT PREPARATION ANCHOR HANDLING

 Anchor handling winch,function tested,grease,breake

adjust
 Towing drum
 Guide pin,hydraulic stopper,function
tested,checkedfor local remote operation
 Tugged winch, capstan
 Portable tools
 Deck lighting
 Communication deck to bridge
 Gas cutting gear
 Rigger gear, shackle, center link , bortlink, chain
stopper
PICKUP THE BUOY

Ship approaching buoy.crew standby to pickup strop

wire(lazy wire),used boat hook than connect to tugged wire.
heavingup until pennant wire eye(suit case wire) on
deck.than connect with the work wire, disconnect the tugged
wire after work wire connect pennant wire, heavingup until
anchor touch to buoy.
PICKUP THE ANCHOR FROM THE BARGE

 Vessel approaching to the barge.

 Barge laydown the buoy
 Crew pickup stropwire(lazy wire) connect to tugged
wire.
 Heavingup until pennant wire eye on deck
 Connect to work wire
 Heavingup until buoy & anchor on deck
 Disconnect the buoy also the anchor use shark jaw
PUT THE ANCHOR
 Used work wire
 Used PCC (permanent chain chaser) running anchor
 Ship approaching barge to pickup pennant wire
 Pennant wire connect to work wire
 Heaving pennant wire until the anchor on the stern
roller
 Ship slowly moving fwd,to the target that give from
the barge / surveyor
 Ship approaching target payout anchor until 5mtr
above the sea bed
 Approaching target payout anchorto the sea bed,if
anchor touch the sea bed / bottom, ship position is hold
than inform to the barge, anchor on the bottom.
 Ship holding position,work wire open,than buoy
connect to pennant wire, buoy ready to go down the
sea by shark jaw and ship moving fwd.
