 Steps
1. Convert working loads into ultimate loads
2. We shall provide a uniform section throughout for the least Mp,
additional flange plates on other spans
3. Find least Mp among all spans, normally shortest span will have
least Mp.
4. Design the span having least Mp
Zxx = Mp/250/1.15 (1.15 is shape factor for converting Zp into
Zxx)
5. Check Mp Provided, Check Shear Capacity
6. Find Mp required for additional plates in other spans by considering
beam mechanisms for other spans.
7. Check all spans for Shear Capacity
8. Draw neat sketches of all spans
