Personal development is a lifelong process. It is the act or process of

understanding and developing oneself in order to attain one’s fullest potential. It
plays a vital role in a person’s growth, maturity, success and fulfillment. It is the
foundation of mature personality, better relationship, happiness, and prosperity.
It is also a way for people to determine, decide and regulate their skills and
qualities, consider and reflect on their aims in life and set goals in order to realize
and maximize their potential.

I concede that I didn’t know the importance of personal development in the

progress of a person until I was privileged to have Personal Development as one
of my subjects. This subject helped me recognize and pinpoint the skills I need in
setting life goals which raised my confidence, drive to a more fulfilling and higher
quality life, helped me plan to make relevant, positive and effective life choices
and decisions for my future to enable personal empowerment. It turned my
negative and closed mindset into an open and positive one. I minimized
complaining on what life brings, and I started to see life as my own blueprint. It
leaded me in managing and spending my time effectively. It improved my ability
to handle stress, adversity and change. It taught me to build better relationships
with people. It allowed me to live a balanced lifestyle. It had also provided an
opportunity to take care of my health. These changes that had happened in
myself are what I often refer to as the great “turning points” in my life. Such
turning points generated so much positive metamorphosis with who I am and
how I live my life right now. These are only some of the things on how Personal
Development subject had contributed on my progress as a person.

Personal development is an important aspect of one’s life. It can mold you

into a better person than who you are today. It leads to a lot of knowledge and
lessons that teaches you to become an upgraded version of you.
