Activity on Innovations

As this pandemic continuously making every individual’s life difficult, it is on us to help and make
solutions. The picture shows the name of the virus that kept endangering the world for over a year now.
And it is presented in tiles. Personally, I see it as a reminder to us to always help collectively and try to
eradicate Covid-19 piece by piece (tile by tile).

Frontliners, most especially medical professionals, are doing their best to come up with a long-
term solution for this kind of virus- by means of vaccine. Though it has come a long way, there has been
studies regarding vaccines that are almost near fruition. This just means that we are a step closer to virus
immunity. But, the vaccine is yet to be proven and tested prior mass production and distribution. As for
now, this is the only legitimate clear solution to shrug off Covid-19. For now, it is of great importance to
still strictly follow rules and regulations set by the government to help ease the high additions of new
cases in the country. Philippines is not a 1st-world country. Therefore, it is harder for us to cope with these
kinds of tribulation. But still, we can do something about it. As we observe and follow protocols, we help
frontliners as well. We help them ease the burden they are carrying on a day-to-day basis.

It is not right to just wait for the vaccine to come to us; to be injected on us. As preparation, we
can do the smaller steps. So that when the time comes for vaccination, we are at ease and peace that we
have a stronger body to subject to the vaccine in the near future. We are all affected. But there are people
more affected. It is not a time to generalize. It is a time for us to be compassionate and feel empathy
towards other people around us. We all suffer, but the weight differs. Let us all bear in mind and be
reminded to look for each other in these trying times brought by this virus. And hope that the permanent
solution comes sooner.

Visually, the picture depicts an individual inside an office where wires of network are very visible
to the naked eye. Moreover, he holds a laptop and he seems seriously problematic with something. And
in a personal standpoint, I can relate this to today’s struggle- technological advancement.

It is not only in school that we need technology, specifically internet, to survive. Now more than
ever, we realize that slow internet connection can really affect us adversely. First, on education, you can
be left behind with a slow connection. Because everything education touches nowadays involves internet.
The clamour from students can be heard on social media with petitions of trying to let school’s
administrations know of their struggle with online education. The movement #NoStudentsLeftBehind
seems not materializing as of the moment because as the semester progresses, other students degress.
They digress with coping with the numerous activities given online with specific deadlines. Now, what
educators need from students are competitiveness and quality despite problems with internet. But the
question is, how can quality be upheld if we generalize that all students can progress? Quality education
is compromised. And it is evident and needs immediate compassionate solutions.

Furthermore, the picture can also relate to family connections. Now that we are in the midst of
pandemic, it is a top priority to know that our distant loved ones are all right and doing fine despite the
negative repercussions of the virus. It is with the help of internet connection that we stay in touch with
our friends and other members of the family whom we cannot visit and physically see because of the
situation. Hence, internet connection bridges us with them. And these are times when we realize that
internet connection can be a need more than a want. Because, it is already part of our daily lives, and we
need it to stay connected, stay updated, and stay informed.
