Overview of Module II

Nature of Culture
If humans are the same biologically, “Why do we behave differently from each
other?” To answer that question, human behavior is not driven by instinct alone but by
culture as well. Then – “Why are cultures not the same?”

The question above is one of the most common inquiry asked I the field of
Anthropology. This chapter is devoted into answer that question and many more about
culture. This module aims to give a clear discussion and understanding of what is and
isn’t culture, how it affects us individually and how it changes through time.

To have a clearer picture in our journey in understanding culture, the sequence
