Definition of CAD
• CAD= Computer-aided design
• Use of computers to:
• aid in the creation, modification, analysis, or
optimization of a 3-D design/ enhancement of 2D
designs
• Easier to visualize objects and structures.
• Used to design curves and figures in 2D space; or
curves, surfaces, and solids in 3D space.
CAD Architecture
• the use of complex
computer programs to
develop illustrations
of architectural
buildings like the
foundation or floor
plans and details of
decoration
CAD
ENGINEERING
• The use of complex
computer graphic skills,
tools, and processes to
develop three-dimensional
representations of
engineering subjects such
as a machine part, tool,
device, or manufactured
product.
With CAD, things can be visualized on the
computer screen before any drawings
have been created

Why is The parts that have been modeled can be

assembled within the computer itself to
animate how moving parts may move

CAD
Useful?
CAD provides the flexibility to make quick
changes to drawings

CAD allows you to work with great

accuracy

Use of CAD
• it allows for people to express
their ideas in 3D by helping them
envision what their product
would really look like
• After designing a product, the 3D
file can be shared with others or
even 3D printed to have a real
prototype!

So, why CAD?
• Combines precision and ease
• Amazing features
• Built-in tools to measure
objects
• Collaborate with others
• Build moving 3D models
• Easily be shared with others
• Can be 3D printed
