My name is Brianna Frederick, a soon-to-be graduate from Azusa Pacific University’s BSN program. This
rigorous education coupled with having recent experience caring for critically ill individuals at a local Providence
facility has further ignited my desire to pursuit a career in caring for patients and families within the ICU. NAME of
HOSPITAL can provide the learning environment I am looking for that can not only enhance my knowledge and skill
sets but develop me personally and professionally into the nurse I hope to become and aim to invest in the lives of
others. From reading about your facility, I am drawn to your MISSION AND VISION STATEMENT.
In order to best know me, I would like to share 3-4 keys experiences that have truly influenced my life and
given me the passion to pursuit excellent as a nurse. First, my dear grandparent’s passing took me head-first into the
ethics of end-of-life care. Knew wanted to position myself in such a way that can guide others through difficult
situations faced with in life. Moreover, working as a total care provider in the private sector helped me gain an
appreciation for the value, quality, and sanctity of life; how not matter how old or state of one’s condition, all are
special and have value. Thirdly, after I sought out an extra opportunity to gain experience through a summer internship
program where I worked full time on a cardiac unit, I was reminded, simply, about the heart of nursing: caring for
another individual to the best of your ability no matter what circumstances or conditions brought them there. Each
individual deserves your best foot forward, and are counting on you, the nurse, to make that difference in their stay.
Lastly, through helping a dear friend through the suicide of their roommate, I gained a new found appreciation for the
ongoing conversation of mental health and the multidisciplinary approach to healthcare that is becoming more
prevalent.
Sincerely,
Brianna Frederick
