THE MODERN
WORLD
(GE15)
→ When I heard the word mathematics I Thought that was very difficult to
understand. But As I grow older mathematics encourage me to find pattern
things, While I was very much and acoustic when younger, now I’m almost
a Platonist. Maybe it’s my own head looking for patterns in noise and
finding them. But I am amazed at what appears to be the ‘unreasonable
power’ at mathematics to find answer and bring order to things which, on
surface, appear not to say anything at all. Math help us have better
problem-solving skills. Analytical thinking refers to the ability to think
critically about the world around us. Reasoning us our ability to think
logically about a situation. Analytical and reasoning skills are essential
because they help us solve problem and look for solutions. And it also
helped us know how to add, subtract, multiply and divide so that we are
able to solve all kinds of numerical problems by knowing all those
mathematical.
Activity 4.
The Golden Ration
Can you see anything special about these ratios? Explain your
observation.
As you see there is a Clock, we all know that clock has a round shape,
number, a tangent, radius of a circle, diameter and circumference. In a
mathematics, A clock is general every time we go past 12 on
the clock we start counting the hours at 1 again. If we add numbers the
way we add hours on the clock, we say that we are doing clock
arithmetic. So, in clock arithmetic 8 + 6 = 2, because 6 hours after 8
o'clock is 2 o'clock. And also in angle the hour hand of normal 12-hour
analogue clock turns 360 degrees in 12 hours (720 minutes) or 0.5 per
minute. The minute hand rotates through 360 degrees in 60 minutes or
6 degrees per minute.
