Read Level 1 rhythms and Level 3 Tonal

Behavioral Objectives
At the conclusion of this lesson, students will be able to:
 Perform mm 21-28 of The Good Old Plough accurately and expressively with proper
performance of rhythms and pitches (INAS7).
 Demonstrate quality vocal tone (INAS7)
 Accurately read and echo-translate simple Level 1 rhythm patterns and Level 3 tonal
patterns (INAS4, INAS7)
 Self-evaluate performance through music terminology (INAS5)
 Perform and identify the dotted quarter – eighth note rhythmic motive (INAS7).

o Read measures 21-28 on Takadimi syllables on soprano line all together
 Solicit discussion on similarities to rhythm exercises from the beginning
of class.
 Solicit discussion about where the dotted quarter rhythm happens in the
music
o Read measures 21-28 on solfege on Soprano line (in respective octaves)
 Solicit starting syllable/key center
 Solicit discussion on difficult sections of the solfege. Repeat if necessary.
o Sing through measures 21-28 on soprano line with words
o Rote teach other parts separately
 Ask students waiting to audiate while working on each part.
