Describe (D):

Who is the lesson for: the lesson is for KG 1 student, The basic outcome is identify the letter D . I
expose the ideas by bringing a box of different pictures which start with the D . Some students
are chosen to pick the picture that start with the letter D . He will look at the picture and say the
first letter and say its sound correctly . In this activity, the students will learn The letter D. The
second activity is writing the letter D by showing them paper carrying the letter D with dots and
ask students to trace the dots and write the letter . Also I ask students to come to the board and
write the letter D , I help them by holding their hands or by guiding them to trace the dots and
write the letter correctly . I gave chance for all students to practice all the activities to learn the
letter well .

Where did the lesson take place? The lesson was in the classroom; the lesson was for KG2
student in AL MASK KG. there are 23 students in the classroom.

What were you trying to achieve in your lesson: in this lesson I try to let the student know the
letter D. First I teach the students the letter Some of them understand quickly and some of them
couldn’t understand. I went to each center and explained more to them in various ways to make
them learn the letter . I explained this letter in easy way to facilitate getting the idea to them.
Next time I intend to bring more models about letter and showing them more words starting
with the letter D. This will help the critical thinking for the child and urges them to share and get
the idea quickly.

What did the students do? In this lesson the student will learn the letter D and how to write it in
different ways; beginning with various pictures starting with the letter D asking the students to
identify the letter. Next time I will make students more engaged in the learning process by
drawing the letter D , by using the clay and write the letter . I will control the time precisely next
time to give students more time to practice more activities. Because this time I noticed them they
are confused a little bit, but next time I will make them more relax the thing that will make them
understand the numbers easily .

Analyze (A):

Why do you think the students responded the way that they did? The students were very quiet
because in the beginning I told them if they behave bad I will give them minus mark in the class
and if they sit quietly and answer well I will give them stars. So, the class was quiet.

How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding? There are different
student levels in the classroom. and I tried to deal with all of them. The mastered students are
given activity suitable for their level for example student well create dandelions and they well write a
sentence “I see dandelion”. Each student well have a paper, cotton, green paper, glow and cotton sticks .
I didn’t need much time to explain the activity to them. I made three different activities for them,
because most of the class is developing students. For example , Build a flower letter sound for
example , student well hove a leaf and flower the student must draw any Picher for litter of D for
example, dog ,doll ,dress, drum ,duck and dolphin .the third activity is I will give student lave and paper
and glow student must do the litter D With leaves .the last activity it is student well hove a seed and a
paper they must write the litter D with seed and paste in the paper . I take more time to explain the
activities to them. The emerging students didn’t understand quickly, so I sat next to them and
helped them to get the idea and make the activity.
How well did you engage the students? From the beginning I tried to attract the attention of
the students by showing them pictures of different colors starting with the letter D . I ask some
students to come and pick the words and say the letter . They feel enjoyment doing this.

Appraise (A):

Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective I think the students get a
lot of fun while doing the activity and in sharing their activity and idea to each other. I notice
that they follow the instruction and they behave well with me, so they understand the lesson.
but in next time I will change some steps in explaining the letter D to let the students use their
critical thinking, and I will let the student share their activity together and let them stand up and
each one will say what he did in the center.

Did your lesson meet your teaching goals? My lesson met my teaching goal, because I think I
did all the needed things in the class. I made the lesson plan, made various activities, explained
the activities well and helped the students of all the levels . I encouraged students and gave
them stars and tried to engage all of them in this learning process.
Transform (T):

How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future? In next time, I will try to
control the time well and finish everything on time. I will improve my pronunciation and speak
the language well. I will give students more support.

What are the implications for your professional practice? I like this experiment, because it
teaches me many useful things that will help me in the future to be a successful teacher in the
future .
