Dear [Principal of School],

As a lifelong resident and alumni of Lawrence Township, I was thrilled to see an opening for
(insert teaching position) at (insert school name). From a young age, I knew that serving my
community as an educator in our schools would be not only a career goal but a lifelong
passion. I am graduating from Butler University in May 2021 with licensures in both Mild
Intervention and English as a New Language. Additionally, I earned a minor in Spanish and a
Silver Seal of Biliteracy. During my undergraduate experience, I have been able to pursue a
graduate certificate in Applied Education Neuroscience and will finish that in June 2021.

During my time at Butler and as an MSDLT guest teacher, I’ve had many unique teaching
placements and experiences in both LT as well as in the greater Indianapolis area. Most
recently, I covered a long-term leave in 4 th grade Dual Language at Mary Castle Elementary,
teaching in both Spanish and English. In all of my teaching experiences, I’ve strived to create
and teach relevant and engaging lessons supported by meaningful classroom connections. As I
spent much of my practicum teaching time in both virtual and hybrid settings, I am very
adaptable and let student needs guide my teaching.

My adaptability (add application specific skills), organization skills, and ability to respond to
student needs and feedback make me a great candidate for the position of (insert teaching
position). I have enclosed my resume and would be honored to be interviewed for potential
employment at (insert school name). Please feel free to contact me at (317) 460-7964 or
aknodere@butler.edu . Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and review my resume.

Sincerely,
