Parōpakārāyā phalanti vṛkṣaḥ


Parōpakārāyā vahanti nadyaḥ
Parōpakārāyā duhanti gāvaḥ
Parōpakārārtham idam śarīram

Trees yield fruit as favor to others. Rivers flow


for the betterment of others. Cows give milk for
the welfare of others. This body also is meant
for doing good to others.

At the top of the hand (i.e. Palm) dwells Devi Lakshmi and at the middle of the hand dwells
Devi Saraswati, At the base of the hand dwells Gauri . Therefore one should look at one's
hands in the early morning and contemplate on them.

Transliteration
Ayam nijaḥ parōveti gaṇanā laghu cetasām
udāra caritānam tu vasudhaiva kutumbakam|
Meaning
This is mine. That is yours. That is the way a narrow minded person can
perceive. For a noble mind, the whole world is one family.
