1. Best outgoing students awards:
Eligibility: UG and PG final year students
Criteria for Selecting Best Outgoing student award

Every year Best Outgoing student award is awarded to the outstanding final year student (both
UG and PG). All final year students are eligible to apply for this award.

 It is purely based on merit (ie., based on the marks obtained in the examination and as per
the rank list furnished by the CoE), co-curricular, extracurricular activities and other
contributions made by the student during his/her stay in VIT.

o Any significant award in reputed international competitions, conferences or


symposia for poster or paper presentations.
o Recipient of any significant international scholarship of repute.
o Recipient of any significant international internship of repute.
o Exceptionally high scores in competitive exams like GATE, CAT, GRE, TOEFL
etc.
o Any unique achievements related to innate talents like memory championship,
publishing books, debating, limca records etc and other co-curricular and
extracurricular activities.

 The candidates who have passed all the examinations with no history of arrears are eligible
for the award.

 Re-admitted / Re-registered / Debarred candidates are not eligible for this award.

 Awards will be given to the students who have more than 75% attendance and have no
disciplinary proceedings against them, including warnings.

 School Deans are requested to constitute a school level committee (School Dean as
convener) to shortlist and to nominate the best three students (inclusive of female student)
from each school for UG and PG programmes (irrespective of the no. of programmes
offered).

 The short listed students from the school Dean’s list will be called for presentation before
the selection committee and best outstanding students will be selected for the categories
mentioned (UG and PG – 1 Male and 1 Female each).

2. Achievers award

Criteria for Achievers Award

 Any award in national competitions, conferences or symposia for poster or paper


presentations.
 Recipient of any national scholarship.
 Recipient of any national internship.
 Won a prestigious award for the University at any events of national repute.

 Students are encouraged to self-nominate for the achievers awards and submit the
relevant documents to the school office.
 One achiever award for each school irrespective of the no. of programs.
3. Research based learning (RBL) awards
Two best (first and second) RBL award from each PG program irrespective of the
batches

Criteria for Research based learning (RBL) awards


1. From among the projects done in Winter 2019-20 and Fall 2019-20 (both semesters put
together)
2. Only two prizes (first and second) from among the 2 years (batches) per program
3. Can be evaluated based on the innovative idea implemented in the project, social cause if
any, cost effectiveness, papers published, etc.

4. CTS award

Best Outgoing Student Award (BOS)

  The eligibility for this annual recognition is applicable for one student of the final year batch who
has demonstrated high potential in various areas of excellence as chosen by the management. The
nominated student will be presented with this Cognizant award in appreciation of his/her commitment to
excellence and achievements.

 One student name to be nominated for each school irrespective of the no. of
programs.

 The Deans of the respective schools are requested to inform the students to self-
nominate for the awards as in the format attached and evaluate the applications and
recommend the list for the awards on or before 26th September 2020.
