The name of the restaurant establishes the first impression for potential
customers. A catchy and unique name greatly affects the marketability of the
business. Filipino cuisine is the proposed theme of the restaurant because of its appeal
to the Filipino masses. The proponents chose “Balisusò” as the name of the restaurant
because of its popularity among Filipinos especially those who live in the provinces.
Balisusò is a cone shaped steamed rice wrapped in Banana leaves and is commonly
served in Bulacan, Bohol, Cebu and many other provinces. It is always on the table
for special occasions like fiestas, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and other
Filipino gatherings because it pairs well with different dishes.
B. COMPANY LOGO
Figure 1
Company Logo
The logo of Balisusò depicts that of a rice and banana leaf. This idea was
derived from Balisusò itself - the business’ namesake. The triangle shape of the logo
came from the other meaning of the word Balisusò, which is triangle or cone.
C. LOCATION
The proponents chose to put up the restaurant on the Second Level, East Wing
of Circuit Lane Mall, Hippodromo, Brgy. Carmona, Makati City with floor area of
two-hundred eighty (280) square meters. The site of business is a strategic place for
business because it is in the center of different residential areas, hotels and
condominiums, and other commercial areas. The number of restaurants around the
location is significant and will be able to help the company to analyze the market
demand around the vicinity.
Balisusò is a casual dining restaurant business with a vintage theme that will
serve Filipino cuisine. Moreover, Filipino movies from the 60’s to 90’s era will be
shown for its customers at certain times of the week while they dine. The restaurant
not only intends to be a novelty, it also wants to be a place where families and friends
would go for its food.
The restaurant will be in Circuit, Makati due to the volume of people in the
area especially during the night, when the restaurant intends to be at its peak. While
the main market is the area of Makati, the business envisions visits from all over the
region for the services provided in the restaurant.
Every part of the project regarding the restaurant from the food served to the
layout of the business was carefully planned to ensure that customers will be happy
from the moment they go inside the restaurant. Balisusò plans on becoming one of the
most well-known casual dining restaurants in the country.
What makes a business thrive is its ability to stand out among its competitors,
without compromising its ability to adapt to its environment and its customers’
preference.
The entity of Balisusò stands on Circuit Lane Makati. Right now, the mall
itself is surrounded by numerous condominiums nearby such as Callisto Towers,
Makati Prime City Condo Homes, Enrique Residences, and Alveo Land. More
residential towers are already being constructed, and it is estimated that there will be
ten (10) more towers established within the next 10 years, initially carrying the Alveo
brand.
Makati also offers free shuttle service for those wishing to go to Circuit
Makati. It has several pick-up points within the Ayala Center and Makati Central
Business District. The service runs Mondays to Fridays from 4-8 pm and starts its
journey from the main station at the Hotel Intercon open car park (near the Ayala
MRT station).
The interior of the mall features a pool setup in the middle of its structure that
reflects the beautiful lights from restaurants and establishments at night. There is also
the al fresco dining on the second level where you can also view sports fields. This
accent made the management of Balisusò settle on putting up an outside seating for
the restaurant.
As a restaurant that serves Filipino cuisine, what makes it stand out is its rice
serving. The love of Filipinos for rice is extremely astounding. For this reason, the
management of Balisusò has decided to make rice its forte. Bringing back the notion
of serving rice enclosed in banana leaves fortifies Balisusò’s aim of implementing the
traditional Filipino way of eating.
With these, the proponents deemed it perfect for Circuit Lane Mall, second
level specifically, to be the venue of Balisusò Filipino Restaurant due to its goal of
bringing the concept of Filipino home to the busy city of Makati.
MANAGEMENT ASPECT
The management aspect discusses the form of ownership of the business, its
organizational structure, the legal requirements and procedures needed in registering
the business to government agencies, which are essential to start the business
operations. The firm’s rules and policies, which serve as guidelines to build and
maintain the firm’s name and operation as a while, is necessary to start and keep track
of the whole operation of the company and keep it in good condition. The
management will also adopt preventive measures and control to minimize the risk on
operations.
The key objects of this project feasibility study are the people who love
Filipino dishes, and to cater the needs of persons who need a break from a tied-up
schedule in the busy life of Makati City. The marketing aspect features the concepts
and subsequent implementation of its marketing plan in the following categories:
services, corresponding prices, place, promotion, physical evidence, process and
people. The basic market need is to have an offering of a variety of options for each
delicacy at a reasonable price that will not compromise quality and still renders
excellent performance that invigorates the clients’ well-being. Balisusò offers diverse
and high quality Filipino cuisines that will give customers enticing experience that is
personal, stress relieving and gives them the feeling that they are indeed at home.
Its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, are also taken into
consideration. Accordingly, Balisusò Filipino Restaurant offers quality food and
services that will give its customers a fulfilling experience.
