STEM careers event/activity


As a final course activity, we want to encourage you to apply the ideas learned during the
“Opening Minds to STEM Careers” MOOC, to create an outline for a STEM careers event or
activity of any kind. The objective is for you to put in practice your STEM careers knowledge
while developing a set of ideas/plan for an event/activity that you could implement in your
school.

Pupils will not abandon the road to the goal and, if necessary, they will be ready to change their
priority.

I will give students information on STEM experts attending a careers fairs and I will make them list
their favorite options. I will also support them during the networking with professionals.

I will have students reflect about their strengths and abilities, so they can keep in mind this
information during an activity where professionals are invited to give talks about their
professions.

Pupils attend to a creation of a wooden handwork, then attempt themselves. Over all, they talk
about their experience and interview the master.

Networking with master will be enhanced during the implementation of a workshop on wooden
work. In particular, at the end of the activity, students will be able to ask questions to the master,
specifically about his/her professional activity and everyday work tasks.
