Aspiring Student  Dear: Senior Portfolio Committee, 

ㅡ  I am writing to you in order to gain approval of my senior portfolio. I am 

also attempting to express my interest in graduating from high school to 
Benjamin Berggren  pursue a career in the Electrical Workers Union.

Dixon, CA 95620  This my fourth year at Buckingham High School and I have completed 
(707) 640 9953  several classes above my usual grade level. In my junior year, I completed 
benjamminberg@gmail.com  courses such as physics and precalculus, as well as AP environmental 
science my senior year. I have also participated in several sports 
including soccer, cross country, track and field, and esports which have 
taught me lessons on leadership and teamwork. I am currently team 
captain of both the xcountry team, track and field, and am one of the 
leaders of Buckingham’s esports team. Over this time period I have 
collected a friend group that has shown me the importance of diversity 
and self acceptance.  

My future plans for the next five years are to gain as much experience 
with an apprenticeship in the electrical workers union, get out of my 
parents’ house and into an apartment, and try to get a job with my 
cousin’s electrical company. Starting an apprenticeship with the 
electrical workers union shouldn't be too difficult, as they offer many 
spots for apprenticeships at career fairs. My cousin also runs an electrical 
business and does offer apprenticeships. I then will be able to give him a 
call and most likely get an apprenticeship. Through this apprenticeship, I 
will still be getting paid partial money as I am still working hands on with 
the electrical teacher while he does projects. When enough money is 
saved or my pay rises, I will search for an affordable apartment in Dixon 
that will suit my needs. Finally, after I complete my apprenticeship, I 
should have no problem being able to apply for a job under my cousin’s 
company. 

I should hope that you kindly consider approving my portfolio and that I 
look forward to my graduation and beginning the next phase of my life.
