i Learn & Share Activity:

General Physics 1
Overview
This performance task aims to have students to apply the concepts learned in the course – from the
theoretical concepts of the motion, force, gravitation, and others into an applied project, in order to create
a recycled balloon powered car which they will try to present it using a vlog.

Performance Task

“Recycled balloon powered car”

Objective
At the end of the i Learn & Share Activity, the students will be able to:

▪ construct a vehicle/car using recycled objects and gather data per trial, each 3 trial should
have information about car’s time and distance.
▪ evaluate all theoretical concepts learned in this course and select the best concepts that
will best fit their intended model;
▪ communicate all scientific investigations and findings in a manner similar to a project
management; and
▪ apply scientific thinking skills in technological processes and procedures.

Evaluation Guide

Below are criteria to be used in the evaluation of your output.

Criteria for grading

Vlog- Organization and Presentation 60 points

Example vlog format, since it is a vlog, feel free to adjust, edit and remove or add some parts considering
that we should follow objectives of the project.

i. Title of project
ii. Members
iii. Planning
iv. Preparation
v. Presentation
1. Time vs Distance
2. Time vs Velocity
3. Time vs Acceleration
4. Laws of motion

Reminder/Suggestion:
Use metric unit of measurement:
• Distance- centimeter (cm)
• Velocity- centimeter per second (cm/s)
• Acceleration- meter per second square (𝑚/𝑠 2 ) *Just convert cm to m*
• In Newton’s Law of motion, simply relate the idea of Law of motion to your output
