RE: REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO BOOST THE YOUTH CONFECTIONERY PROJECT
AFFECTED BY COVID 19 LOCK DOWN IN UGANDA EAST AFRICA.

Receive warm greetings from the management of Schummer comprehensive Institute and
appreciation for the work done towards the development of the less privileged people in this world.

Schummer comprehensive Institute is a registered nonprofit making Organization (Registration No:

80020002299108) by the Government of Uganda and established in 2019 to empower the less
privileged youth in our communities to acquire self-employment and survival skills in line with our
slogan “We lean by Action’’.

Before the lock down in March 2020, the institute had enrolled 45 students being trained in
confectionery and baking skills training. The institute was also doing well in production and sell of
confectionery products like cakes, bread, donuts and other snacks baked by students and 5 staff members
to ensure that practical skills training is put into consideration as well as generating income for
sustainability of the institute. This meant that the project was catering for 50 people in Uganda.

However, the Government of Uganda announced a lock down and students on training were told to go
back home.

The students fees was a source of income for buying raw materials for the production of confectionery
products and this was affected. Since then up-to-date the government has not allowed students to come
back for trainings. We had acquired market among shops, supermarkets and school carteens in the
nearby communities. These continued demanding for products but the capital for purchase of raw
material has since then become a great challenge.

Though we continued with a small production through our Departmental bakery SICO BAKERS AND
CONFECTIONERY this could not sustain the planned activities of the institute.
We are therefore kindly requesting for financial support to purchase the raw materials such as; baking
flour, cooking oil, eggs, sugar, Margarine others to boost this enterprise affected by the corona virus lock
down in Uganda East Africa. For assistance our bank details are the following,
