RE: REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO PURCHASEA DOUGH MIXER MACHINE FOR SKILLING
ANDPRODUCTION FOR THE CATERING AND CONFECTIONERY DEPARTMENT.

appreciation for the work done towards the development of the less privileged people in this world

Schummer comprehensive Institute is a registered nonprofit making Organization (Registration No:

80020002299108) by the Government of Uganda and established in 2019 to empower the less
privileged citizens in our communities to acquire self-employment and survival skills in line with our
slogan “We lean by Action”.

Currently the Institute of 45 students is equipped with the necessary tools and resourceful people to
conduct day to day skills training in Tailoring and Fashion Design,, Catering and Baking/Confectionery.
We also have short courses in Cake making, bread and donuts making, Tomato source making, spice
making, juice (Flavored and natural) making, Liquid soap making, and juice making(see Photos attached).

However, our confectionery department still has a challenge of lacking a commercial dough mixer
machine to train students how to operate it when they acquire jobs in large hotels or anywhere in the
field of confectionery. We use our hands to mix the dough and all other ingredients to make cakes and
therefore we cannot mix kilo more than two for a fine product. This is time consuming and tiresome, yet
our oven can accommodate products of 5 products. The acquisition of a commercial mixer will also help
to increase productivity and profits for the institute which will enable sustainability through acquiring
resources on time to pay tutors allowances and meeting other administration costs.

Our trainings majorly gives priority to young girls and boys 13 -20 years. Our target is to prevent them
from falling into traps of becoming victims of maids, wives to mature men, early pregnancy and
HIV/AIDS. Many of these young girls keep approaching us to be enrolled for skills training on a free of
charge. However, with the fact that we also have little resources to pay for building rent fees, meeting
administration and human resource daily costs and utilities, we cannot meet their request without
another source of financial support. Acquiring this machine shall increase production scale and we acquire
means to sponsor a few selected.
In line with the above challenges therefore, Schummer Comprehensive Institute management is kindly
requesting for support of U$1500 to purchase this commercial dough mixer machine. We shall be very
