RE: Gwakuku Annual Soccer Tournament

Gwakuku Annual Soccer Tournament was first held in December 2017 and has been played at various village
soccer fields. However, it has been regarded as one of the annual successful events by our community and
surrounding area, for the past years. This year our main objective is to make this event bigger & better, hence it
is now taking place at Oshakati Independence stadium on the 1st of September 2023 until 3rd September 2023,
this however cannot materialize without your valued contribution. The 2017 tournament attracted teams as far as
Windhoek and more than 10 Namibia Premier League Players were spotted in action. This year’s event is under
the theme My talent My future which will be educating the youth and the Namibian nation at large on how to
make use of their talents, as well as on how one can create jobs for themselves and not only rely on government
for employment.

Through this initiative we are going to revive the Namibian soccer as well as educate the youth that there is
indeed life after school. This will also reduce the crime rate in the north as we unite the youth and keep them
busy by playing soccer or supporting one another to make Namibia a better place. This event will not only be
beneficial to us, but it will be of paramount importance to the Namibian nation at large as we are giving 10% of
the event’s profits to a charity organization ‘Dr Frans Aupa Indongo Special Care Centre’ which caters for elders
and disabled children in Oshakati. The event will also give the youth an opportunity to prevail their entrepreneurial
skills by selling their products and services at the stalls offered at the stadium.

Organize/Compete in diverse types of sport activities for the ultimate benefit of the community of Oshakati and
surrounding areas.

Objectives
To raise funds for sport equipment's that will be used at the event.
To promote entrepreneurship to uplift the community.

In addition, there are so many benefits of playing soccer such as increasing social interactions, staying fit &
healthy, boosting self-confidence and self-esteem, promoting cognitive development and above all soccer is fun
plus it requires work ethics. Furthermore, we want the youth to find their true inner persons and know what they
are to the nation and embrace them as the future of Namibia.

Prizes
We further anticipate that we will have great prizes to be won. There will be prizes in cash and equipment for the
first, second and third place. Other awards will include the most disciplined team, top goal scorer, most
entertaining team, oldest player award, most behaved player and sport officials will be awarded with prizes. Our
main aim is to ensure that people feel valued and are encouraged to take part every year.
