Breakfast
1) Fruit (Orange, Mango, or Apples)
2) Beef Tapa
A Filipino dish made of thinly-sliced beef traditionally cured with salt and spices
and then dried or smoked as a preservation technique.
3) Scrambled Eggs
A classic Filipino breakfast dish of scrambled eggs, with a mix of tomatoes and
onions.
4) Bread
The Filipino Pandesal which is Spanish for bread of salt. It is traditionally made
with wheat flour, yeast, water, and a pinch of salt added to the dough but through
the years, ingredients such as eggs, milk, and butter were incorporated into the
basic recipe resulting in a sweeter flavor.
A Filipino-style meatloaf made with ground pork, chicken or beef, shredded carrots,
crushed pineapple or sweet pickle relish, and raisins.
3) Chopsuey
A stir-fry dish that includes bite-sized meat such as pork, chicken, or shrimp. and
assorted vegetables such as celery, broccoli, carrots, or cabbage flash-cooked in a
starch-thickened sauce.
4) Shrimp Fried Rice
Fried rice loaded with generous portions of shrimp, beef, and chicken along with
the eggs and vegetables for a tasty one-pot meal.
5) Pinipig Polvoron
Lomi noodles, made with fresh egg, with a variety of meat cuts from chicken, and
vegetables, with a cornstarch-thickened soup stock
2) Bicol Express
Pork cubes cooked in coconut milk and chili peppers, served with steamed rice
3) Fresh Lumpia/ Lumpiang Sariwa
Filipino fresh spring rolls with a simple mix of vegetables sans meat with vegetable
filling wrapped in scratch crepe wrappers and a sweet and savory sauce.
4) Buko Lychee Sherbet
Basic mixture of coconut milk, cornstarch, sugar, and corn kernels, garnished with
toasted coconut flakes
