ADVENT SERIES: Episode #1 – HOPE

- Story setting: Online kamustahan with Household

- Story: After a very long time of not seeing each other because of the pandemic,
Jen’s Household held a Zoom meeting to check on each other’s situations. One
of the members of the Household – Mark, will not be able to attend the online
kamustahan because of not having enough mobile data. Jen, being the HH
leader, will help Mark by sending him enough load to attend the Zoom meeting.
Mark joins the Zoom meeting and will share about his struggles during the past
months which led him to be inactive. Mark will also share his realizations that
despite all the challenges, he is still being hopeful because he knows that God is
with him.

 “Our hope is found in the promise of Jesus as we place our trust in His unfailing
love.”
 “When everything else we rely on fails us, our hope is in you. When we do not
understand what has happened, we hope in you.”

SCRIPT

The episode will start with the members of the household greeting each other in the
Zoom meeting.

EVERYONE
Hello po! Hi tito! Hi tita!

CC TITO
Hello sa inyo!

CC TITA
Kamusta kayo?

JEN
Oo nga! Kamusta na? Nakakamiss naman ‘to.

JIM
Okay lang naman, ate. Lumalaban pa. Grabe, nakakamiss pala no?

LISA
Hindi naman sa clingy ako ha. Pero miss ko na kayo!
 GIE
Ano ba yan, Lisa! Ang clingy naman!

LISA
Sorry, sorry. Honest lang!
Au boy—May kulang pa ba tayo

JIM
By the way, nasaan pala si Mark?

JEN
Nag-chat ako sa kanya. Kaso di pa ako na-replyan.

GIE
Ay, ate! Nagsabi nga po pala siya sa akin kagabi na baka daw po hindi siya maka-
attend. Wala po silang internet eh. ‘Di raw po kaya ng mobile data niya.

JEN
Ganun ba?

There will be a few minutes of silence. Everyone will be on their phones. Suddenly,
Mark joined the Zoom meeting.
LISA
Uy! Nandito na pala si Mark eh!

MARK
Hello po!

GIE
Bro! Kamusta?

LISA
Ito, buti naka-pasok na ako ng Zoom. Salamat sa inyong lahat! Grabe, bigla na lang
ako naka-receive ng mga load galing sa inyo! Thank you tito at tita, ate Jen, Jim, Lisa,
at Gie! Nakakahiya naman, pero salamat talaga!

JEN
‘Wag ka mahiya. Syempre, gusto ko lang rin makatulong. Namimiss ka na rin namin eh!
 JIM
Ay wow! Nagpadala rin pala kayo ng load?

GIE
Oo! Buti na lang talaga may load pa ako kaya sinend ko na kay Mark para maka-attend
din siya.

LISA
Ako rin! Ngayon na lang rin kasi uli tayo magkakausap, kaya sana makumpleto tayo.

MARK
Pasensya na kung ‘di na ako nakaka-attend ng mga activities simula nung nag-
lockdown. ‘Di ko kasi alam kung paano mag-aadjust sa ganitong setting. Wala rin
naman kaming stable na internet connection.

Pero kahit na ganito yung sitwasyon namin ngayon, hinahayaan at pinagkakatiwalaan

ko na lang ang Diyos dahil alam ko na may rason ang lahat nang ito. Hindi naman
siguro sa akin ibibigay ni Lord itong challenge na ito kung hindi ko kaya, ‘di ba? Kahit
minsan talaga hindi ko na alam kung bakit ganito yung nangyayari, nire-remind ako ng
Diyos na ‘wag ako mawalan ng pag-asa kasi never naman niya akong iiwan.

JEN

Praise God for trusting His plans for you, Mark! Kahit na minsan ay nagkakaroon ka ng
doubts, Praise God for still being hopeful sa Diyos.
