Extended teams offer something that typical project engagements do not deliver - retained knowledge, continuity of
development and long-term commitment by the supplier and consultants to maintaining and improving the client’s
products.

Our experience in delivering services has shown that when consultants are brought into the client organisation as a part
of the client’s own onshore teams, when developers understand that they have a long-term relationship with the client’s
products, and when the supplier and the client have a long-term partnership in delivery - productivity rises significantly,
developers gain a high sense of commitment and loyalty, and velocity and quality peak.
 WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE EXTENDED TEAM SERVICE

Extended team services are intended to create productive, stable, loyal teams for clients who require consultant
resources on a long term basis, usually for a minimum period of 12 months.

It comes with an agreed set of basic services for recruiting, managing, supporting and developing the team; taking
away the management overhead and leaving you to run your team, and your projects, as you need.

Suitable for long term development projects, maintenance of existing systems, for clients who have continuous
development requirements (for example digital agencies or other software companies) and for services such as cloud
hosting engineering support, DevOps and Infrastructure engineers or building customer support desks.

Building high performance teams

 STAGE 1: FORMING - HIRING AND RETAINING TALENT

Ratio provides both the HR and Project Management experience to ensure the right
resources are hired, talent is nurtured and retained, and productivity is maintained.

❖ Once the requirements are understood and everything is agreed, Ratio starts to
build the team, with the client in the driving seat
❖ The Client’s recruitment stages are agreed; including any technical testing,
interviews and approvals
❖ Ratio’s recruitment team presents suitable candidates to the client, undertakes 1st
stage security and capability screening and interviews, and guides the client
through the interview and selection process.
❖ Ratio assists and advises the client on the best methods for successfully hiring
consultants, offers advice on team composition and structure and helps the client to
build his team. The client always has the final say on any hires.
❖ Consultants are typically hired with a 3 month probation period, during which the
client may require Ratio to replace or remove any consultant who is not performing
as required
 STAGE 2: PERFORMING - MANAGING AND MAINTAINING PERFORMANCE

❖ Probation ends with a review by the client and the suppliers’ HR and PM consultants
❖ HR consultants conduct 6 monthly and annual performance reviews, and provide
regular feedback and manage holidays, sickness and absence
❖ Our toolkit of services includes team building events, 360 degree reviews and
education programs (including in-house language courses)
❖ When team members are required to go onshore, Ratio’s administration service
supports and manages onshore relocation services, temporary business trips and
assists with visas, travel & accommodation
❖ The client is in sole control of the team, Ratio is not entitled to remove, replace or
otherwise change the team or team composition, other than when instructed to do so
by the client.
❖ The client will manage the team in delivery, but may at any time request the support of
Ratio in monitoring, managing or advising the team, and Ratio can provide Added
Value services such as Project Management or Quality Assurance oversight
