Learning Objectives Students will be able to identify the four initial provinces in confederation and the to identify 3
provinces that would soon join.
Students will know the reasons why the Canadian Government pursued a policy of western

Students will be able to understand the reason for both Metis Rebellions. Specifically, they

on the exam) and the outcomes of both rebellions. They will demonstrate this within a
comparison chart.
