EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Hygieia Pharmacia is a pharmacy that provides long lasting relationships with

local customers and excellent customer service through the advent of technology

using an application that extend the pharmacy’s presence and offer efficient

solutions for capturing incremental market share. By addressing the need of

pharmacies in the community and creating a more efficient process that will

yield points for patients and customers. With the increasing population growth,

the need of pharmacies in our location, and coping up the fast pace of change

brought by science, there is a significant opportunity to establish this company

and use technology to change the industry in which the existing brick and mortar

solution cannot sustain itself.

Hygieia Pharmacia will be located in North Purok Yakal Tubtubon, National

Highway, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, in front of Polymedic Hospital which will

start with the amount of 9.9 Million Pesos with a land area of 100 square meters.

The Pharmacy has features of a convenience store with various grocery products,

offers delivery, and uses technology. The main goal and objective of the

pharmacy is to give full attention to customers to deliver quality healthcare and

sell products at a more affordable price.

1
II. BACKGROUND

It is in the 21st Century that the world is becoming increasingly fast paced.

Technology is progressing at a higher rate than ever seen and health care is

constantly changing to keep up with the world. With these advancements, the

expectation is that health of the nation would be improving; this is unfortunately

not the case. In fact, the incidence of preventable diseases/conditions is higher

than ever and continually growing, partly because of poor lifestyle choices.

Pharmacies are the first point of contact for many people, not only to pick up

prescriptions but also in the hope to conveniently find a health solution without

the doctor’s visit. All of these give an idea of establishing Hygieia Pharmacia to

come to life because of the favorable, profitable and lifesaving conditions to the

community.

It is favorable for the community because of the higher sales since medicine is a

constant need in whatever age bracket, time, place, and in any culture. Hygieia

Pharmacia looks forward on making a more accessible and available source most

in demand medicines, vaccines, cosmetic products, contraceptives, clinical

apparatus and groceries. According to the National Statistics Office of the

Philippines and National Statistical Coordination Board, Sibulan has 59,455

people and only 2 Pharmacies are open and currently active. We will specifically

establish Hygieia Pharmacia in front of Negros Polymedic Hospital which is

scheduled to open this year. One of our identified target market would be the

patients in the said establishment aside from our online customers and those

people living near the vicinity.

2
Nowadays, almost all Pharmacies are offering pleasing deals however in Hygieia

Pharmacia, customers will experience a nearer approach not just because it is

targeting people in hospitals or it will stand in an establishment near a hospital

but it will also use technology as a marketing strategy. A programmed

application will be made available and will be spread across the city through

Facebook as one of the strategies in marketing products and services. To start the

free spreading of the said application, the pharmacy will be giving it free to

every customer that will purchase medicine. For publicity, the newly opened

Pharmacy will be advertised in radio stations operating within the vicinity.

Favourable conditions are given to those who will sign in the application like

information and patient counseling by our licensed Pharmacists for free. They

can inquire the price and available drugs and order. Deliveries are also offered

within the municipality of Sibulan and with charge if beyond.

Licensed Pharmacists are always on post and other personnel like the assistant

pharmacists are assured to be always accessible. As Pharmacy students and

future pharmacists, making money through medicine is one way of answering

our call of responsibility and to our role in the community. Hygieia Pharmacy

will not only focus on money investment but most importantly to the satisfaction

of the costumers and to pharmacists that serve them.

It will mainly offer and will provide service which were properly reviewed and

approved by FDA, DOH and other government departments responsible for

screening and inspecting new available drugs being marketed. Along with those

seen benefits, it is also expecting barriers, problems and factors that may affect

the whole plan. We understand that the selection of place, identifying our target

3
market and marketing strategies to be applied are some of the long lists of factors

to consider in starting a business. The pharmacy is targeting customers from

places far and near. Other pharmacies may be able to provide the cheaper or

better services but convenience and accessibility is mostly exchanged with a little

difference in amount. Pharmacia Hygeia looks forward to serve beyond

expectation and specially emphasizes the value and welfare of consumers.

MARKETING AND SALES STRATEGIES

The strategy that we are going to use in our management is the System and

Human Relationship Approach. In System Approach, it focuses on the

arrangement of and relations between the parts and how they work together as a

whole. The way the parts are organized and how they interact with each other,

determines the properties of that system. In our pharmacy, there is a designated

task on every section with their specific duties. To give life to our system, we

15
must be open and do interact with external environment, we must engage with

the ones that gives us the inputs and outputs which is our suppliers and

manpower. Maintaining the process inside the pharmacy we always try to

implement new strategies in ensuring an effective means of providing health

care and progression of our business. In Human Relation Approach, we based

our principle on our employee for we are concerned in knowing their

individuality, needs, seek for efficiency, and productivity through leadership,

motivation, and communication. We use our initiative to constantly come up

with incentives for the staff and customers so that the best health outcomes can

be achieved. We understand the value of all our stakeholders and ensuring that
