Isolated Footing subjected to (N-M)

 Moments affects the foundations
1. Permanent B.M like Dead loads and live loads.
2. Variable B.M like wind load and Earthquake loads.

Example (1)
Design an isolated footing to carry a column subjected to 1800 kN vertical loadand
300 kN.m permanent bending moment, the column dimensions are (40 x 90) cm.Draw a
sectional elevation and a plan with scale 1:50 showing all reinforcement details and levels.
Thickness of plain concrete (Pc) is 30 cm, Allowable net bearing qall  15 t / m 2 ,
Fcu  25 N / mm 2 , Fy  360 N / mm 2 .
