帮忙—Verb-separable

This 帮忙 is a separable verb, which mean “help”. It also can

be used as “帮sb的忙、帮sb⼀个忙”.

请帮我的忙。
Qǐng bāng wǒ de máng.
Please help me.

你可不可以帮我⼀个忙？
Nǐ kě bù kěyǐ bāng wǒ yíge máng?
Can you help me?

你帮了他⼀个⼤忙，介绍了⼀个这么好的⼯作给他。
Nǐ bāngle tā yíge dà máng, jièshàole yíge
zhème hǎo de gōngzuò gěi tā.
You helped him a lot. You recommended
a good position to him.

...的话

It means “if”, and sometimes you will hear 如果

before the sentence. Both of them are optional.

你想学中⽂的话，就应该去中国。
Nǐ xiǎng xué Zhōngwén dehuà,
jiù yīnggāi qù Zhōngguó.
If you want to learn Chinese,
then you should go to China.

这件衣服你喜欢的话，可以给你打折。
Zhè jiàn yīfú nǐ xǐhuān dehuà, kěyǐ gěi nǐ dǎzhé.
If you like this clothes, I can give you discounts.

如果我是你的话，我⼀定不要他当我的男朋友。
Rúguǒ wǒ shìnǐ dehuà, wǒ yídìng bú yào
tā dāng wǒ de nánpéngyǒu.
If I were you, I would definitely not want
him to be my boyfriend.

对...有兴趣

This pattern means “to be interested in something

or doing something”.

他对书法非常有兴趣，所以每天花很多时间练习。
Tā duìshūfǎ fēicháng yǒu xìngqù , suǒyǐ
měi tiān huā hěn duō shíjiān liànxí.
He is very interested in Chinese calligraphy,
so he spends a lot of time practicing every day.

你对做瑜伽有没有兴趣？可以来我们的课看看。
Nǐ duìzuò yújiā yǒu méi yǒu xìngqù ?
Kěyǐ lái women de kè kànkàn.
Are you interested in doing yoga?
You can come to our class and take a look.

我⼉⼦对运动没有兴趣，不想学打篮球。
Wǒ érzi duìyùndò ng méi yǒu xìngqù ,
bù xiǎng xué dǎ lánqiú .
My son is not interested in sports so he doesn’t
want to learn how to play basketball.

This 把 is very useful, especially when you want

others to give you something.

请你把他的email给我。
Qǐng nǐ bǎ tā de email gěi wǒ.
Please give his email to me.

你把那张纸拿给他朋友。
Nǐ bǎ nà zhāng zhǐ ná gěi tā péngyǒu.
Please take that paper and give it to his friend.

我把这件衣服送给我姐姐了。
Wǒ bǎ zhè jiàn yīfú sò ng gěi wǒ jiejie le.
I sent this clothes to my older sister as a gift.

Estella 什么样的运动呢？跑步、游泳、骑脚踏⻋，或是做瑜伽。
Shénmeyàng de yù ndò ng ne? Pǎobù、yóuyǒng、qí jiǎotàchē, huò shìzuò
yújiā.
So, what kind of exercise? Running, swimming, riding a bicycle, or doing
yoga?

Wǒ xǐhuān dǎ lánqiú .
I like to play basketball.

Wǒ dìdi cháng zài gōngyuán dǎ lánqiú . Nǐ xiǎng hé tā yìqǐ dǎqiú dehuà,
wǒ bǎ tā de diànhuà gěi nǐ, nǐ kěyǐ gēn tā liánluò .
My younger brother often plays basketball at the park. If you’d like to
play basketball with him, I’ll give you his phone number so you can get in
touch with him.

In this park you can see people running, playing soccer, playing tennis,
and there are also people doing Tai Chi and dancing.
