Lesson Plan in Physical Education


Indirect Lesson Plan

I. OBJECTIVES:
Within a 25-minutes period of teaching-learning process, the students are expected to:
a) Identify basic footwork in playing badminton
b) Demonstrate the basic footwork in playing badminton in the four corners of the court
c) Appreciate the role of sports as it contributes to the well-being of a person through
fitness development

II. CONTENT:
Subject Matter: Basic Footwork in the Four Corners of the Badminton Court
Values: Appreciation on the role of sports in our overall well-being
Skills: Basic Positioning in the court

 Lesson presentation on basic footwork of badminton
 pictures of badminton players and the court
 badminton racket
 power point presentation

IV. PROCEDURE:

A. Pre-lesson Activity (Introduction)


 Prayer
 Attendance Check
 Recap of previous meeting’s lesson
 Motivation: Show a picture of a player in a court holding a racket. The students are
asked to answer questions about the picture that will lead to the topic.

Questions like:
1. Are you familiar with this type of sport?
2. What do you think is the man holding?
3. Is this sport helpful for your health?

Introduce the goals of the lesson.

B. During Lesson (Interaction)


 As the teacher introduces the lesson with the basic stand or stance and the basic
footwork on the court, the students are asked to demonstrate and master the skills by
themselves with the guidance of the teacher.
 The teacher will show a video on the basic footwork in badminton in the 4 corners of
the court.

 After watching the video, the teacher will demonstrate each of the skill below to let the
students personally watch the proper execution of each skill.
1. SPLITSTEP - SIDE SHUFFLE – LUNGE

2. SPLITSTEP – SKIP JUMP – LUNGE

3. SPLITSTEP – SIDE SHUFFLE – SCISSOR JUMP


4. SPLITSTEP – ROTATION JUMP – SCISSOR JUMP

 The teacher will ask after the demonstration:


1. What do you call the first basic footwork?
2. What is the name of the second basic footwork?
3. Can anybody give me the name of the third basic footwork?
4. How about the last one. What do you call it?

C. Post-Lesson (Integration):
After the discussion, the students will be asked the following questions:
1. Why is it important to properly execute the basic footwork in badminton?
2. What is the role of playing badminton in our lives?

V. EVALUATION:
The teacher will call randomly students to show and demonstrate properly one basic footwork
and each student will be graded:

COMPETENCIES:
SKILLS DEMONSTARTION:
The students show how they can properly demonstrate a skill after it is being demonstrated by
the teacher.

 5 POINTS – if the student shows knowledge about the skill but has a hard time
demonstrating it
 7 POINTS – if the student shows knowledge about the skill but cannot properly do it
with correct positioning of the feet
 10 POINTS – if the student shows knowledge about the skill and can perfectly
demonstrate it correctly with proper positioning of the feet
VI. ASSIGNMENT:
To reinforce the lesson, the students are asked to submit a video through email or messenger
to the teacher showing their skills on the basic footwork in playing badminton. The students
will be graded accordingly:
 20 points – the video showcases poor execution of the skills.
 30 points – the video showcases adequate execution of the skills.
 50 points – the video showcases masterful performance of the skills. (how clear the
video is on showing the skills and also includes labels and instructions)
