Lesson Plan for Physical Education V
First Quarter

I. OBJECTIVES: At the end of 40 minutes discussion, the learners should be able to:

A. identify the different physical activity pyramid ;


B. appreciate the importance of physical activity in our body and health
through physical exercises and ;
C. perform the different physical activities.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Philippine Physical Activity Pyramid

Materials: Whiteboard marker, cartolina and laptop

Learning Competency: Describe the Philippine physical activity pyramid.

B. Lesson Proper

1. Activity: " Identify Me "


 The teacher will show a different pictures to the class.
 The teacher will let the learners to identify the pictures
 The students will identify the pictures they pick and name it.

2. Analysis
Looking back to the activity, the teacher will ask the following questions:
 What have you observed in the activity?
 What can you say about the activity?
 How did the students did the activity?
 What do you think is the relevance of the activity in our topic for today?
3. Abstraction: “ Build Me “
 The teacher will show the 4 parts of a pyramid on the class..
 The teacher will call some students to build and arrange it on the board.
 The students will arrange the pyramid accordingly.
 The teacher will introduce the topic to the class.
 Summary of the topic:
 Philippine Physical Activity Pyramid - the study that conducted by the
Philippine Association for the Study of Overweight and Obesity (PASOO) is a
visual representation demonstrating how to increase physical activity until it
becomes a part of daily routine and daily recommended activity at the base
and proceeding to less beneficial activity at the peak.
 To use the pyramids as a guide is simple:
 The top of the pyramid should be done minimally at best. Example of it are
watching TV for a long time and playing video games.
 The third level is leisure activities and exercises for strength and flexibility.
These should be done two(2) to three (3) times a week. Example of it are
running ,jogging and playing basketball.
 The second level should be done at least three (3) to five (5) times a week.
Example of this are recreational and aerobic activities like dancing and doing
sit-ups and push-ups.
 The last level of the pyramid is the day to day activities and should be done
as often as possible. These are considered light physical activities. Example
of this are walking, and doing household chores.

4. Application: " A Minute to Act it "


 The teacher will group the class into 4 groups.
 The teacher will give the 4 level of the Philippines Physical Activity Pyramid
to the class randomly.
 Each group will pick there level of the pyramid and let them act the future
effect of the activity in the body.
 They will be given 10 minutes preparation and 5 minutes presentation.
 Learners need to be act:
1. Top level of the pyramid - Watching TV for a long hours of time.
2. Third (3) level of the pyramid - Doing sit-ups at least 10 counts.
3. Second (2) level of the pyramid - playing basketball with friends
4. First (1) level of the pyramid - doing household chores.

IV. EVALUATION: Direction: Write C if the statement is correct and W if the


statement is wrong. Write it in a clean sheet of paper..
1. Regular exercise can make our body healthy and strong.
2. Watching TV for a long time is good.
3. Sit-ups and push up is an example of middle and lower part of the pyramid.
4. Playing outdoor games is much recommended than playing video games by PPAP.
5. Native Filipino games is belong to the high part of the pyramid.

V. ASSIGNMENT: Direction: Research about more examples of the 4 level of the


Philippines Physical Activities Pyramid(PPAP). Give at least 5
examples in each part. Write it in a short bond paper.
