I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson students should be able to:


a. Identify the Physical Activity Pyramid;
b. Describe the importance of Filipino pyramid activity guide;
c. Understand the label of nutritional needs of the Filipino teenager;
d. Perform the following movements with Open and Close, Arm Raise, Punch,
and Arm Sway.

III. LEARNING PROCEDURE


A. Routine Activities
1. Prayer
- The teacher should ask one student to lead the prayer.
- The students will stand – up and start the prayer.

2. Greetings
- Teacher will greet the students and ask if they are okay.
- The students greet back the teacher and they also greet their classmates.

3. Checking of Attendance
- The teacher will call all names to know who are absent in today’s class.

The teacher will ask a question regarding the story of “Sitio Katamakawan”.

Physical activity pyramid


- It is a diagram that shows the different kinds of physical activities that you
can do each day in one week. It indicates how often and how long you can
do each activity in a week.

The Philippine Physical Activity Pyramid or The Filipino Pyramid Activity Guide
- it is a diagram that indicates different suggested activities that one can do
to be physically active and healthy. It uses words like habitual, often,

Nutritional needs of the Filipino teenager

Dancing is a physically moderate to vigorous activity and it requires a great deal


of focus and stamina. In order for you to perform physical activities such as street and
hip-hop dance, you have to eat the right amount of food needed by your body or a well-
balanced diet to give you energy; to help you focus and concentrate, and to prevent you
from any untoward injury or accident.

-Dancing as a recreational activity can be a way to stay fit for people of all ages, shapes, and
sizes. It has a wide range of physical and mental benefits including:

 Improved condition of your heart and lungs


 Increased muscular strength, endurance, and motor fitness
 Increased aerobic fitness
 Improved muscular tone and strength
 Weight management
 Stronger bones and reduced risk of osteoporosis
 Better coordination, agility, and flexibility
 Improved balance and spatial awareness
 Increased physical confidence
 Improved metal function
 Improved general and psychological well-being
 Greater self-confidence and self-esteem
 Better social skills.

D. APPLICATION

Perform the following movements with a step close to the right and left alternately (moving
forward or backward) for 10 minutes to a 2/4-time music. After 10 minutes, identify the
intensity of the activity bases on the rate of perceived exertion (RPE) chart.
