I. Objective:
Ia. Content Standards:
a) the learners demonstrate an understanding of projectile motion, impulse and
momentum and conservation of linear momentum.
Ib. Performance Standards:
a) the learners shall be able to propose ways to enhance sports related to projectile
motion
Ic. Learning Competency with code:
Main task
a) the learners should be able to describe the vertical motions of a projectile. (S9FE-
IVa-34)
Sub Task
a) perform the following calculations using formulas,
b) cite the importance of projectile motion
Id. GAD Core Values:
a) shared responsibilities and
b) shared opportunities
II. Learning Content:
Unit 4: Force, Motion and Energy
Module 1: Projectile Motion: A Two Dimensional Motion
III. Instructional Materials:
A. Audio-Visual Aid:
Maze, eggs, straws, papers, Powerpoint presentations, video presentations, and
writing materials.
B. References

IV. Procedures:
A. Routine ENGAGE
-The teacher asks the class to pray and then checks the attendance after.
-Students are asked to arrange their chairs properly and to pick up pieces of paper.
B. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson ELICIT
- What is acceleration?
- What is uniformly accelerating motion?
- After the presentation, the teacher asks the students questions that will lead to the topic.
C. Establishing a purpose for the lesson ENGAGE
MAZE!
- The teacher will form the students into groups.
- The teacher will give the activity entitled Egg drop physics!
D. Presenting Examples/instances of new lesson EXPLORE
- The teacher will give an egg with different
- Five learners will go to the fourth floor and will drop the egg.
- The remaining learners will watch the egg as it drops down to the ground.
- Learners will examine the egg and will make observations afterwards.

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1 EXPLAIN

- What do you think is the reason why the egg did not break?
- Why the egg does falls in the ground as you throw it?
- What can you say to the speed of the egg as it drops down to the ground?
- After the activity, the teacher asks group members several questions about the activity.
F. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #2 ELABORATE
Uniformly Accelerating Motion: Vertical Motion
* Video presentation of a feather and bowling ball under free fall will be projected on
the wall.
*In first scenario, the feather and the bowling ball will be subjected into free fall in a
chamber with air.
*In the second scenario, the feather and the bowling ball will be subjected to free fall
in vacuum chamber.
D. Developing mastery (Leads to Formative Assessment) EXTEND
Free fall- when an object is falling due to gravity without the influence
of friction and air resistance. An object that is having a free fall has an
acceleration of 9.8 m/s2 due to gravity. This acceleration is uniform
until it reaches the ground. Take note that the velocity of an object
increases to 9.8m/s every second.
Figure 1. The increase of velocity in free fall is 9.8 m/s every second.
Since there is a constant increase in velocity and friction is also
negligible, we can say that the object accelerates uniformly

E. Finding Practical applications of concepts and skills EXPLORE

Using Audio-Visual Presentation, the teacher will show different
sports emphasizing projectile motion.
F. Making generalizations and abstractions about the lesson ELABORATE
- Have you ever wonder why gold balls have dimples?
G. Values Integration EXPLORE
-The teacher asks different students of what is the importance of projectile motion in real-
life situation.
H. Evaluating Learning EVALUATIVE
-Solve the following problems:
1. A person pushing a stroller starts from rest, uniformly accelerating at a rate of 0.5 m/s2.
What is the velocity of the stroller after it has traveled 4.75 m?
Answer: 2.18 m/s
2. A car traveling at 7.0 m/s accelerates uniformly at 2.5 m/s2 and reaches a displacement
of 19 m. What is the final velocity of the car?
Answer: 12 m/s
3. A car enters the freeway with a speed of 6.5 m/s and accelerates uniformly for 0.95
m/s2 for 20 seconds. How far the car moving after this time?
Answer: 320 m
I. Additional activities for application or remediation EXTEND
A. What to do: Find what is asked in the problem:
Solve the following problems:
1. A race car accelerates uniformly from 18 m/s to 46 m/s in 2.5 seconds. Determine
the acceleration of the car and the distance traveled.
2. A plane starting at rest at one end of a runway undergoes a uniform acceleration
of 4.8 m/s2 for 15 s before takeoff. How long must the runway be for the plane to be able
to take off?
3. An automobile with an initial speed of 5 m/s accelerates uniformly at the rate of 2.5
m/s2.Find the final speed and the displacement after 15 s.
