CASE-CADE – Case Study Challenge

Aaruush’20, SRMIST, Chennai


Topic: Digital

Instructions:
1. The Team should comprise of 3-5 members.
2. The time given for the case study is 24 hours
3. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. If found, then the Team will be disqualified.
4. The assessment is a holistic process will be performed based on the depth of analysis.
5. The length of the case study is limited to 4-5 slides excluding the opening and closing slides.
6. If the same case study is presented or shared by 2 Teams, then both the teams will be
disqualified.

Problem Statements:

Is digital going to be new normal."In the next 30 years, 80 percent of small businesses will benefit from globalization. In 2030 more
than 85 percent of businesses will be e-commerce. "Today, we see made in China, made in the US, made in Switzerland. In 2030 we
will see made on the Internet," said Ma to loud applause.

1. How digital is helping the companies in globalization?


2. The Data of facebook is provided. The interpretation is expected be in the terms of the timeline and strategic analysis.
3. How technology is enabling digital business. Write a complete business model of any two successful Digi-tech startups.
4. Discuss the statistics of companies that are diversifying their business into digital ( from Offline to Online like eCommerce) in
recent times.
5. Is Virtual Life going to be robotic in the Future or we will come back to complete traditionally?
6. Calculate the break even volume of the company that you have selected to make the study upon and compare it with present
revenues and project the revenues for next 3 years.
Shortlist Parameter
Case Quality (50 %): 50 Marks

This is judged on the basis of the ability to satisfy educational objectives and student expectations; the correctness of the research and data; the manner of
presentation of the data; the writing style, the useful life of the case, versatility of usage; the summary of the case and abstract.

The content will be reviewed by the relevance of the topic; the ability to create a strong and interesting learning experience by including contentious issues and
multiple perspectives; case authors are expected to take a critical perspective on the different dimensions of the subject of investigation.

Teaching Notes (30 %): 30 Marks

These are judged on the basis of immediate issues, underlying issues, key points or highlights; indication of level of analysis (graduate, undergraduate, executive);
suggested student assignment; suggested additional readings or references; possible discussion questions; potential uses of the case (marketing, strategy, etc.);
analysis; suggested teaching approach; computer support; audio-visual support; proposed session plan.

Teaching notes, which must accompany each submission, should include as a minimum the following issues: an introduction to the programme on which the case is
used and to the background of students who will use the case; pedagogical objectives of the case; possible questions for class discussion; any other comments that
might be of assistance.

Innovation (20 %): 20 Marks

The judges are seeking innovative materials, not necessarily presentation of the case, but new concepts and learning. Ideas concerning the whole concept
