NARRATIVE REPORT ON COVID-19 INITIATIVES

President Rodrigo R. Duterte issued Presidential Proclamation No. 922 series of

2020, declaring a state of Public Health Emergency due to COVID-19 pandemic. All
offices have been directed to strictly implement the required public health standards
prescribed for offices/workplaces under DOH Administrative Order No. 2020-0015 dated
April 27, 2020 and the DTI-DOLE Joint Interim Guidelines on Workplace Prevention
and Control of COVID-19 dated April 30, 2020. Aside from observing social/physical
distancing and mandatory wearing of facemasks, strict observance of personal hygiene,
environmental sanitation measures and food safety measures are also encouraged. DENR
Region X implemented guidelines and protocols in observance of the said memorandums
which were religiously observed by all employees of the DENR Region X to ensure the
safety and welfare of those who will be reporting for work and the general public.

To remind working personnel and the general public with the protocols, it is
posted at the gate and distributed to different offices. Moreover, prevention signs are also
displayed conspicuously in different buildings in the DENR X Compound to ensure
maximum observance of physical distancing and strict implementation of COVID-19
protocols.

Alcohol-based hand sanitizer kills the virus (known as SARS-CoV-2) that causes
COVID-19 according to DOH. As such, this Office provided alcohol at every frontline
desk in order for it to be easily accessible. Moreover, Security Guards ensures all
personnel and clients to wear face mask and they require all employees and clients to use
alcohol before entering.
To limit physical contact, clients are not allowed to enter inside the offices. They
were directed to fill out the Request Form to attend the reason of their visit. They need to
wait for their name to be called to received all the documents they requested.

Footwear and Tires can also be a source of transferring pathogens. Hence,

disinfecting foot bath were placed right before the entrance of each building in the
compound. There is also a vehicle wheel baths in the gate for tires. A sanitizing bath is a
very simple form of biosecurity that helps prevent the potential spread of disease as virus
have the potential to survive for several days or weeks in any surface areas.
Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque announced last July 31, 2020 that
wearing of face shield is "highly recommended" as an additional requirement to the
minimum public health standards to be observed to curb the spread of COVID-19. In
consonance, this Office purchased and distributed face shield to all employees and
advised to wear face shield at all times especially those employee riding on public
transportations, as additional preventive measure to combat the spread of COVID-19.

As part of the precautionary measures we have put in place to ensure public health
and safety and to prevent the spread of COVID-19, a disinfection activity will be done
every Friday at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon. To allow disinfectant to disperse naturally
and prevent undue exposure of both our clients and employees to hazardous materials,
work is suspended and all employees are advised to go home and join with their families.
In order to strengthen information dissemination, this Office established a Bulletin
intended for the Information and Education Campaign (IEC) of Corona Virus Disease.
Latest updates on the number of cases, memorandums and city ordinances posted in this
Bulletin.

For information and record.

In general, the coronavirus pandemic has disrupted organizations and caused the
management to think differently about their role as they adjust to social distancing
practices and a new work environment. We have learned a great deal about living and
working in a pandemic environment. Let us help in reducing the risk and spread the virus
and follow the strict COVID-19 protocols.
