The year 2020 has been a tough and difficult time for many countries around the world.

What
environmental resistance affects the Philippines? What measures will you do to protect the
community?

Pandemic COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on almost everything in 2020, including

the environment, from canceled climate and biodiversity summits to a temporary drop in air
pollution and greenhouse gas emissions to increased awareness of the link between human
health and planetary health. The year 2020 was supposed to be a watershed moment for
international gatherings that would set the climate and conservation agendas for the next
decade. However, due to the pandemic, many of those were canceled or postponed.
Nonetheless, many companies and governments have made commitments to reduce carbon
emissions, and researchers and non-governmental organizations have published a slew of
reports on the subject.

The pandemic shook social and economic systems all over the world. Lockdowns in
March and April prompted a sharp reduction in travel and industrial activity, resulting in lower
emissions and some of the clearest skies in living memory. Stock markets and the prices of
many commodities plummeted, only to roar back in the following months.

To stop the spread of COVID-19:

● Maintain a safe distance (at least 1 metre) from others, even if they don't appear to be
sick.
● Wear a mask in public, especially if you can't separate yourself physically.
● Open, well-ventilated spaces are preferable to closed ones. If you are indoors, open a
window.
● Hands should be washed frequently. Use soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub
to clean your hands.
● When it's your turn, get vaccinated. In terms of vaccination, follow local
recommendations.
● When you cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with your elbow or a tissue.
● If you are feeling ill, stay at home.

Seek medical attention if you have a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing. Call ahead of time so
that your healthcare provider can direct you to the appropriate health facility. This protects you
and prevents viruses and other infections from spreading.

Masks

Masks that are properly fitted can help prevent the virus from spreading from the person
wearing the mask to others. Masks alone will not protect against COVID-19; they must be
combined with physical separation and hand hygiene. Follow the recommendations of your local
health authority.
