Drop Point Hunter (DPTAC95)

w/Buffalo Horn Scales

------------------------
Tools Used
Drill press
no.8 (.199) drill
Saw
Files
Sandpaper
(Buffer/Belt sander, if possible)
------------------------

Lay the blade on the scales and draw around the profile, and then saw out the profile.

Clamp one scale to the handle and drill thru one existing hole using a #8 (.199) drill.
Insert one pin thru the first hole to prevent shifting and drill thru the second hole. Repeat these steps for the other side.

Use a small countersink drill to countersink all holes on the inside and flat sand both scales.

Assemble the scales on the knife and file and sand the handle to shape. Be sure to finish the
front edges of the scales. They cannot be finished mounted on the knife without marring the blade finish.

Mix 2-part epoxy and smear a thin coat on all inside surfaces. Insert the pins and clamp securely.
Wait about 30 minutes and then wipe away the squeeze out on the front of the blade with a paper
towel soaked in denatured alcohol. A toothpick will help.
Sand and polish the handle.

Congratulations!
