FABRICATION OF THREAD LENGTH CONTROL SYSTEM FOR

CONVENTIONAL LATHE

SYNOPSIS

Mechanical engineering without production and manufacturing is

meaningless and inseparable. Production and manufacturing process deals with
conversion of raw materials inputs to finished products as per required dimensions
specifications and efficiently using recent technology

Thread Length Measurement and control in Lathe system based on

microcontroller is used to measure length of job. Length of thread has to select
using selector switch and selected length value is fed to microcontroller . The
Length sensor is used to sense the length of job and compare the threaded length ,if
select value is greater than selected length , relay is on and motor is off.

Advantage

1) Accuracy is high

2) Production time is less

3) Easy to operate

Disadvantage

1) Capacity of the machine depends on motor
