How Muktir Gaan documentary makes and impact on our today’s
generation?

Muktir Gaan (song of Freedom) is a documentary film based on liberation war of

Bangladesh, directed by Tareq Masud and Catherine Masud realized in 1995. This
is the most watched documentary film in South Asian history. Most of the footages
from the film were captured by American film maker Lear Levin in 1971 He had
20 hours 16 minutes footage from the history of Bangladesh left in the basement of
his house in New York City.

This documentary is really inspiring for our generation. We can learn from many
things from this documentary like how to serve the nation, how to make sacrifice
for the country and the country people. We saw in this documentary a group of
young people go to the mukti camps and sing patriotic songs for the freedom
fighters for inspiring them motivate them, and also go to the refugee camp and
entertain them, motivate them and give them hope by singing and by performing
puppet show. And we saw that there work was working for the freedom fighters.
They became really inspire and started giving slogan “Joy Bangla”, and refugee
peoples, they also became entertain and motivated and they appreciate these young
people’s work. This young group of people from muktir gaan sacrifices their
comfortable life and tried to do something for the country. They did not have any
guarantee of food, they did not have shelter but the still worked for the country.
But in now-a-days what our young peoples are doing for the country? Our young
generation is doing nothing for the country. There is corruption in every field in
our country right now. Our young people, they do not want to serve our country
they try to go a foreign country and serve them. If there is any unwanted thing
happened in our country our young people do not raise their voice. Although they
must raise their voice because this country is in young peoples hands. If young
peoples do not do anything for country this country has no future. But we saw that
in 1971, young people’s they worked at the risk of their lives sacrifice a lot for the
country and then we got this independent country. But today’s young generation, if
something bad happened they just sit and watch those things in news or any social
media but they do not do anything for fix the bad. We saw something in past that
our young people raise their voice in some movements like in recent times like
“Quota movement” or “We want safe roads movement” but that is enough. Our
main problem in this country right now is the political problem. Our young
generation should raise their voice for this problem. Young peoples can save a
nation. And this is the high time that our generation should raise their voice for this
political problem and fix this problem. Because if this problem is fixed our country
is going to be a really peaceful country. We saw in 71 that the young peoples in
that time raised their voice in every political situation. We should learn from them
and should our today’s political problem.

We saw another thing in the documentary that the refugees who are badly injured,
some doctors from Bangladesh serve them and treat them. A team of Bengali
doctors and volunteers give free treatment to the Bengali injured refugees. Those
peoples from that team get nothing but still they serve their country peoples they
work for the country. But on the other hand if we see about our today’s image
patients are dying in hospital but doctors do not come to treat the patient they come
in their time and go in their time. Lot of doctor charge good amount money for
give treatment to the patient so that many poor peoples do not get the proper
treatment for their illness and died for lack of treatment. But the doctors team from
71 do not teach us this. They teach us to serve people for nothing. They teach us u
serve the people because they are your people and you cannot expect anything in
return from them.

In “Muktir Gaan” documentary we can see the reality of 1971, the reality of
liberation war. We can feel those things happened during our liberation war by
watching this documentary. So our generation can know about the reality of 71,
and this inspires our generation so much. Our generation can learn from this
documentary that no matter what country should be our first priority. We should
work till our last breath for the country. We should sacrifice our comfort our sleep
our food for the country and for the country people.

The voice soldiers from “Muktir Gaan” documentary raise their voice for support
the liberation war. They could not take the gun in their hand because they were
artists but they got the voice so they use their voice support the liberation war. That
teaches us that we can serve our country from where we are. In whatever field we
are we can from that field from the country. We can serve our country people from
our fields. We can make our country proud from our fields from whatever field we
belong. We should learn from their generation. What they did for the country and
what we are doing.

At the end “Muktir Gaan” is a really inspiring film for today’s generation. If we
follow their path our country is going to be a great nation. That is how “Muktir
gaan” documentary makes an impact in our today’s generation.
