4.3 Work Procedure

 Equipment used to drive steel pipe Piles

The equipment required to drive the Pile needs 13 ton hydraulic vibratory
hammer. Steel casing will be drive in to two stage, first half 15 m will be drive
into the defined location and Remaining 15m of the pile will be joined by
welding and drive into the ground until required height.

< Figure.18 > Piling Driving by HD 100 Hammer

Once Started to drive the pile into soil and for every 2m interval have to check
the verticality and stability of pile by using spirit level.

The above mentined driving repeated until the pile height reach the ground. At
this stage Pile driving will be suspended.
While driving the tolerances will be maintained by using thespirit level. In case
of Pile, running beyond tolerance the pile will be extracted and will be rectified.

 Pre Drilling Preparation

Drilled shaft rig components, for the most part, are all essentially the same,
regardless of the rig size as shown and described below.
<Figure.19> Hydraulic Drill Rig

Typically hydraulic rigs have capabilities of holes maximum (70 m) with

diameters of (2500 mm).

 Inner Steel casing fabrication including Filter part

After completed boring, deep well casing will be installed and the following
steps involved to installation process.

Steel pipe has been drilled like as shown in figure 19 before install into the
steel casing. After Drilled the steel pipe, five layers of wiremesh need to be
wrap around the pipe. after wraping deep well casing will be installed into the
steel casing.
< Figure 20 > Pipe and Pump Installation

 Cable Line and Pipe Line installation

(i.) Pipe line Installation

Pipe line will be lay all around the deep well area as shown in the markup,
Each well having two pumps with 4” pipe to discharge the water. Two 4” pipes
connected to the one 1000mm dia pipe and water pass to the nearest water
resources .
(ii.) Pipe Connection Details

Deep well pipes connected through the 1000 mm pipe by using the fittings. 4”
GI pipes will be laid to discharge the water from the pump to head line.

<Figure.21 > Pipe Connection Detail

(iii.)Cable Line Installation

Power cable decided based on the pump requirements and capacity. For each
Deep Well point are installed with three pumps and each pumps required 50
amps power to run the pumps. For each well at least we need 150 amps
power to run the pumps. For easy controlling, each well points will be fixed
with one control panel.

Main Panels control each pumps and if any power issue or leak it will help to
stop the particular issue pump. Remaining can run continuously. Main panel is
the main spot of the cable system which used to contol the whole system.
Main power distributed from the main panel for each control panel totally 9
nos of 35 sq mm with cabl type of four core cable. The pumps are all three
phase pumps and we have to provide at least 4 core cables to distribute the
power.

Two numbers of 600 kva capacity genset for run the pumps due to 24 hours
working. Please refer the layout plan for bring the cables and box locations.

5. DEWATERING

Dewatering is the removal of water from solid material or soil by wet classification,
centrifugation, filtration, or similar solid-liquid separation process. On construction
site, this condition is implemented before subsurface excavation for Launching Shaft
and Pumping Station below earth level to lower the water table.
Due to this matter, Dewatering Pump is used to pump the water/muddy water out
from the construction area.
5.1 Excavation and Strutting Work Dewatering System

<Figure.25 > Dewatering System Layout

Refer to Dewatering Plan for CWP Structure Layout, the water / muddy water will be
detention at Water Pond 1 and 2 based on the shortest distance to channel this type
of water. The water pond was reacting as Detention Pond (Sedimentation Process)
by which the solids are removed from the water column by settling.

The purpose of the storing water in the pond is to allow time for solids to settle out of
the water column produce the clear water on the surface and solids at the bottom of
the pond using Natural Process.
The shortest distance was chose due to the trafficking, capacity, and quantity of the
machinery operate per Day at the worksite. Refer to this situation, the route were
designed to prevent the pipe from being overlaps or crushed by the machinery
resulting an interference of the operation.
<Figure.26 > Pump Location Layout

<Figure.27 > Performance Curve

5.2 Deep Well Dewatering System

Pipe line will be lay all around the deep well area as shown in the markup, Each well
having two pumps with 2” pipe to discharge the water. two 3”pipes connected to the
one 4” dia pipe and water pass to the nearest water resources.

Discharge area for Dewatering System are located on existing Sedimentation pond.
The pond was the discharge area from previous work involving drilling work, where
the waste are muddy and contains with chemical waste such as bentonite, sodium
silicate and etc.
SEDIMENTATION POND 1

TO ASH POND

SEDIMENTATION POND 2

< Figure 28 > Discharge Route for Dewatering System

The Area was chose to prevent the waste from being discharge into open water (Ash
pond) to prevent Environmental issue indicate pollution on natural ecology
surrounding for muddy water for early drilling stage.

After completion of pipe and cable installation, the water is discharge into the ash
pond due to underground water ground water is not contaminated with any form of
chemical elements.

6. CONCLUSION

The method of statement described above is based on our Experience and Industrial
Practise. As the specific conditions in site may vary significantly so the adjustment in
the execution method will be necessary
