6.2.3 Preparation work

 Survey work / Determining column position and elevation

 Coordinate & Column Boundary Check

 Define column borders based on approved drawings.

 Checking approval drawing & bar bending schedule

 We have to check the approved drawing & bar bending schedule before cutting the Rebar.

 We have to check the column length, width and height

 Workers must wear safety shoes, safety helmets, reflector vests, & gloves prior to rebar fabrication

6.2.4 Rebar assembling and exposed concrete column casting

 Reinforcement assembly consists of fabrication, such as cutting, joining and installation work. This work shall be

carried out in accordance with the drawings, standards and related specifications. The rebar material will be sent to

the fabrication yard to carry out the fabrication work. The material being stocked and manufactured must be

protected with plastic sheeting and wooden logs to avoid rust and bearing supports in the lying area.

 After fabrication, fabricated rebar will be installed, decking with the specified distance according to the construction

drawings.

 First, the rebar assembly for the column sections will be installed on the overlap between the rebars using manual

shifting. Reinforcement must be installed with proper reinforcing wire. After that QC & Supervisor must check the

reinforcement and all reinforcement must be fixed with reinforcing wire.

 After the rebar checklist, we start the concrete work casting. Concrete casting work will be carried out using a concrete

pump or manually. Prior to equipment placement, site conditions should be checked by the concrete pump operator

and site conditions should be changed if necessary.

 Ready mix concrete will be transferred to a cast tub and then using a manual bucket and then poured into the column.

The workability of fresh concrete will be checked with a slump flow test on site prior to commencement of casting.

Concrete must be poured continuously with a monolithic process until the peak elevation is determined. Column

concrete must be cast in conditions without the addition of water using concrete K 350, slum 49 – 55, screening with

beige color.

 Each m3 of concrete requires 60 kg of the beige dye. then it takes 2-3 days to open the concrete formwork.

9
7. Inspection and Test Plan

Follow inspection and test plan for Column work.

8. Safety Plan

Safety is an important thing that shall be enforced during column work activity. The relevant safety procedure will be

applied during this work.

The safety plan that will be applied is including:

 Personnel Standard Safety Tools, i.e. safety helmet, reflector vest, and safety shoes.

 These safety tools shall be appropriate with the safety standards. Guna Mulya Cahaya will keep all of the personnel to always use

Personnel Standard Safety Tools during working.

 Safety for maintaining existing traffic, i.e. rubber cone, plastic safety barrier, red flag, traffic signboard, and other related safety

material. A safety office and flagman will be provided during activity to concern on safety matter and control existing traffic.

 Safety on the equipment when operated; the around area of equipment shall be made sure of safe conditions. Guna Mulya Cahaya

will check the condition of equipment which shall be safe before use. The working radius of crane and maximum lifting load

shall be confirmed on layout drawing and at the site.

 Safety on the material; Safe location will be provided for the stock area of the material before used. During unloading the material,

a safety officer will make sterilization to the area from unimportant persons and others. Unloading of material will be guided by

special personnel and supported by workers. During loading and unloading, it shall be made sure that no one stands on the bottom

of the material when lifted up. It will prevent accident during this activity.

 Safety Facilities; Guna Mulya Cahaya will provide safety facilities in the working area. The safety facilities will be including First aid,

lighting for night work, ladder, etc.

10
9. JSA (Risks and Mitigation)

The risks of the work and the mitigation are:

a. Workers' skin exposed to welding sparks

Ensure workers use full PPE and machines used are in good condition.
b. Eye Irritation Exposure to metal fume or welding fumes
Workers use eye protection / welding goggles.
c. Workers electrocuted (electrode welding)
Workers ensure the condition of welding equipment and cables is suitable for use, and workers use full PPE.
d. Fire caused by sparks
Keep flammable items away from the welding area and provide fire extinguishers in the welding area.
e. Scratched iron material
Ensure workers use full PPE.
f. Pinched by iron material
Ensure that the material must be held and lifted together by the workers, and ensure that the feet and hands are not
under the steel column being worked on.
g. Hit by steel column
Workers confirm the position of the steel column and ensure that the column is firmly held by other workers. all workers
must wear full PPE.
