 Make necessary assumptions while drafting messages.

1. You work as an HR trainee with ABC Ltd. The company is a national B2B supplier of medical
equipment to hospitals across the country and has its operating branches in 12 cities of India.
You are located in the Delhi office, which is also the head office. The company has a central
decision policy, which means, all decisions taken in the head office, are applicable on the other
branches of the company as well.

The total employee strength of the company is 1200 employees, with work hours of 9:00am-
5:30 pm, six days working.

These are COVID times but business for your company has not suffered. The risk of exposure to
the employees is definitely very high since the company has regular dealings with hospitals.
Also, for some reason, the company has not temporarily shut down its offices and everybody is
working full-time. You have tried to have this discussion with your reporting manager, who feels
that the company comes under ‘essential services’ category and hence does not need to provide
a work-from-home option to employees. You do agree that marketing and sales team needs to
be at office but other than that, other departments like HR, finance, operations etc. can easily
operate from homes. You feel that the company believes that a work-from-home option will
reduce employee productivity drastically and employees will earn a salary for free.

After multiple discussions with your reporting manager, who is clearly resistant to a work-from-
home option, she has asked you to write a mail to her, citing 4 clear reasons why you think
work-from home option should be considered for some departments in the office. Basis your
mail, she will initiate a discussion with her seniors.
This is a solicited mail addressed to a resisted receiver. Draft the mail including subject line,
proper salutation and subscription. Assume necessary details.

profile with a leading fashion brand which has forayed recently into India through an acquisition
of a leading Indian Brand. Draft the cover e-mail including subject line, proper salutation and
subscription Assume necessary details . (20)
