It is safe to say that for the future of con-
necting technology, the metric thread GDM
is the right choice. But for us it also means
the consistent continuation of a long trad-
ition. Because Hirschmann has demon-
strated its pioneering spirit in serial produc-
tion since 1979, with the tailor-made GDM
– appliance connector for all installation
types. For this reason, the new connector
with metric thread also represents the
sum total of our experience: the housing,
made of impact-proof plastic, is suitable for
the chemical and food industry and is also
resistant to coolants and lubricants. The
high number of approvals reflect the high
level of reliability in practice. Versions with
built-in electronic systems are also available
along with versions with crimp-contacts
for vibration-prone areas. An extra large
cable terminal housing, integrated cable
strain relief, various built-in variations and
special client wishes – which are always
welcome – leave the client with nothing to
be desired. And planning will be especially
easy during the transition phase: for a limited
period, the existing PG threads and our
new metric connections shall be available
simultaneously. We shall be happy to do
whatever we can for you. There is only one
