Common tests that your surgeon may ask you to have if you have not had them recently

are: Blood tests

such as a complete blood count (CBC) and kidney, liver, and blood sugar tests. Chest x-ray to check your
lungs. ECG (electrocardiogram) to check your heart

Urinalysis is the physical, chemical and microscopic analysis of urine. In the

preoperative setting, it may be used to detect urinary tract infections, renal
diseases and poorly controlled diabetes. The test is safe with no known risks.

An electrocardiogram is a simple, painless test that measures your heart's

electrical activity. It's also known as an ECG or EKG. Every heartbeat is
triggered by an electrical signal that starts at the top of your heart and travels
to the bottom. Heart problems often affect the electrical activity of your heart.

The chest x-ray is the most commonly performed diagnostic x-ray

examination. A chest x-ray produces images of the heart, lungs, airways, blood
vessels and the bones of the spine and chest. An x-ray (radiograph) is a
noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical
conditions.

A pelvic ultrasound is a noninvasive diagnostic exam that produces images

that are used to assess organs and structures within the female pelvis. A
pelvic ultrasound allows quick visualization of the female pelvic organs and
structures including the uterus, cervix, vagina, fallopian tubes and ovaries.

Papanicolaou test A procedure in which a small brush or spatula is used to

gently remove cells from the cervix so they can be checked under a
microscope for cervical cancer or cell changes that may lead to cervical
cancer..
The endometrial biopsy is a medical procedure that involves taking a tissue
sample of the lining of the uterus. The tissue subsequently undergoes a
histologic evaluation which aids the physician in forming a diagnosis
