Tasks:
Pre-finals (100 points)
I. Improvised Face Mask and Face Shield Creation (100 points)
Instructions:
1. Design and make five (5) improvised and reusable face masks and two (2)
Face shields.
2. Document with pictures the materials and the steps during actual
production of face masks and face shields.
3. Take pictures of the finished products.
4. Take pictures of the finished products actually worn by you as the model of
your creation.
5. Products shall be graded based on the following criteria:

Durability 15 points
Functionality (as protective measure against Covid-19) 15 points
Integration/use of recyclable materials 10 points
Documentation of materials and steps used 10 points
TOTAL 50 points

Full documentation, preferably in electronic file (picture/word file/pdf) must


be submitted by May 15, 2020.

II. Container Farming/Gardening


This is all about gardening in your home vicinity in this time of community
quarantine. You need to get involved in any gardening activity at home. If you
have it already, you or your family have maintained a garden, then it will be
an advantage.

You take part in home gardening, which could be backyard (for those who
have big spaces around the house) or container farming for those with very
limited space to plant. Below are examples of container farming.
Make your own version of fruit/vegetable/herbal plants gardening. It could be a
collaborative effort with other members in your family. Try to make use of what is
available at home (e.g. fruit and vegetable seeds from kitchen wastes).

Make the necessary preparations from gathering materials (preferably recycled from
wastes at home), choosing for the plants, soil, location for your gardening, etc.).
Document your gardening progress every 5 days by taking pictures, with you doing
the task.

This task shall be graded by the following criteria:


Diversity of planted species (variety of species) 30 points
Growth and health of the plants based on progress report 40 points
Innovative technique 40 points
Total 100 points

Innovative technique refers to any form of innovation or improvised tool or process


that you may have developed in your gardening activity: e.g. improvised watering
tool, self-formulated organic fertilizer/pest control, improvised pots, planting style,
etc. Document this in writing (encoded or handwritten).

Two (2) progress reports shall be submitted by the end of May 2020 and 2 weeks thereafter.

III. Narrative Report entitled “My Community Quarantine Experience.” Integrate in your
narrative report the importance of Science, Technology and Society during Quarantine
experience. (100 points)
