Summary
Harsha and Franklin are very intimate to each other from the college days. Both of them
finished post graduates in management from same institutions .They also worked together in a
organization named ‘HY-tech technology solutions ‘where Harsha appointed in HR department
as an Counsellor and Franklin appointed in Finance department as an Key finance executive
.Harsha is friendly in nature and helpful where as Franklin is a bit egoistic and silent in nature
.Both of then successfully completed four years in the same organization and management also
treated them and very much satisfied on them .After that Hasha felt that Franklin is not like as
before with her and she also noticed that some behavioral changes with him at the time of
general conversations Harsha also noticed that he poke fun at her that she is famous among
the employees in the organization. One morning the general Manager of Hy-tech technology
solutions checked her mail and notice franklin mailed her about his resignation and he told it to
Harsha what is the reason but Harsha told him that she did not know about that and she just
listen .Then Mr.Metha decided to meet with Franklin in canteen and they discussed about the
matter because he needs both of them .After some hesitation Franklin told her about the
problem that he is not treated properly by the guard and the employees while Harsha is treated
with more respect and he also mentioned he is ignored .Then Mr.Metha told him that it is just
the behavioral changes and he tried to understand him about the matter .After listening from
Mr.Metha franklin changed his decision and take back his resignation and started with Harsha
like previous times .
The reason that Mr. Mehta would have given to Franklin

Harsha and Franklin, both of them are post graduates in management under different Streams
from same B-School. Both of them are close to each other from the college days itself and the
same friendship is continuing in the organization too as they are placed in the same company,
Hy-tech technology solutions.

As FrankIin stated both Harsha and Franklin are graduated from same university in same year.
Both of them joined in same organization and have same expertise. Franklin analysed all the
over said similarities between him and Harsha. He again mentioned that he keeps more
obligation than that of Harsha.

Harsha placed in HR department as employee counselor and Franklin in finance department as


key finance executive. As per the grade is concerned both are at same level but when
responsibility is concerned franklin is holding more responsibility being in core finance.
Harsha getting consultant in HR and she deals with the workers every day time. She developed
good connection among the employees credited to her pleasant nature. She is usually always
thought of by the workers whenever they fall any issue as she provides good guidance and
many of the periods she recommend best options to solve the problems.

It happens to Franklin that he has to face such degradation in each day of work which totally
disturbs him. Franklin also questioned that “Harsha and myself have same qualification, from
same institute, passed out in the same year both with first class. We have same number of
experience in this organisation. More over the responsibilities with me are more valuable than
that of Harsha. After all this things if I am been ignored or unrecognized by the fellow
employees my ego does not allow me to continue here”.

It is true that Franklin holds more obligation than Harsha but when it comes to direct connections
with workers Harsha is the workers interest in this factor.

One morning Mr. Mehta general Manager, Hy-tech technology solutions shocked while going
through the mail received from Franklin about his resignation. Mr. Mehta called Harsha
immediately and discussed about the same as she is close to franklin. By hearing the news
Harsha got stunned and said that she did not know this before. She also revealed her current
experience with him. Mr. Mehta who do not want to lose both of them promised her that he will
handle this and he won’t allow franklin to resign.

Mehta having good expertise to understand the issues when Franklin explained his difficulties
one by one. Later he compares each situation, explained by Franklin with the reasons, and tried
to realize Franklin the reality.

The problem of Franklin is 1) when he comes along to canteen the people from other
departments don’t even recognize him but if he is accompanied by Harsha he gets well treated by
others. 2) On day both of them entered the company together. The security in the gate wished
them but the next day when he came alone the same security did not do so. 3) Even in meeting
held in the once, the points raised by Harsha will get more value. So many a times he keeps
silent in the meeting.

Mehta said that the security guard or the employees in the canteen who known Harsha during
counseling or approached her for any issues. As she was in HR department to counselling the
employees she would have got counseled well or resolved the issues of them that is actually the
reason why they treat her and desire her . But the employees directly didn’t know him or
didn’t have direct interaction as like Harsha . When it comes to the situation of Franklin they
would have hardly met him or interacted with him.

By listening this statement Mr. Mehta felt that it is not going to be very difficult to stop his
resignation. Mr. Mehta explained franklin the reasons for such partial behavior of the employees.
After listening to Mr. Mehta franklin said sorry for his reaction and got ready to take back his
resignation. And he called Harsha and spoke with her like before.

After hearing to all the answers given by Mr. Mehta Franklin recognized his error and he is very
pleased about the Connection developed by Harsha among the workers. He stated to Mr.Mehta
that he will consider back his resignation and he will make an apology and to fulfill her as a
friend as like his university days .

With the above reference it seems me that the following reasons have been understood by Mr.
Metha to Franklin :

1. Harsha is appointed as Counsellor in HR department for this why she is deeply


involved with thy employees
2. Employees also know her better because they came to her when they will fall in any
problem and Harsha tried her best to do best for them that’s why they evaluate her
than Franklin
3. As Franklin worked in finance department the employees hardly meet with him and
don’t know him like Harsha
4. Mr.Metha tried to understand Franklin the reasons happened due to his behavioral
changes to Harsha and after that Franklin realized the reality and changed his
decision.
These are the reasons that mentioned by Mr. Metha to Franklin .
