CHARGING
FURNACE
Y
It's a wide tank made of refractory materials and it holds
2,000 tonnes of molten glass at a maximum temperature
of 1550° C.
FLOATING
The glass at 1100° C is discharged from the furnace onto
a bath of molten tin, where it floats and spreads out in
the form of a long strip. At the edges of this sheet,
toothed rollers(top rolls) pull or push the glass sideways
to obtain the required thickness (1.1 to 19 mm).
SPREADER
CUTTING
Cooled in the open air, the ribbon of glass is inspected,
then cut into plates measuring 6m x 3m that are
automatically trimmed (edges removed). The volumes
are then placed upright on trestles by suction-cup lifters
ROLLING PROCESS
The glass leaving the furnace passes between two metallic rolls that give it the desired thickness and relief.
The printed glass used for interior decorating are made this way.
DRAWING PROCESS
The sheet of glass is drawn vertically from a molten glass bath. This process is used for artistic glass.

You need to consider three qualities in choosing the right material for interior signs: safety,
performance, and cost. Glass offers performance because it stands up to public environments, but it’s
heavy, difficult to fabricate and handle, and time-consuming to replace. Glass can also
shatter and compromise safety, making it a risky choice for public areas, especially with children.
Tempered glass will improve safety, however, it’s more expensive, cannot be cut to size, and has the
same drawbacks associated with glass.
Another choice is standard acrylic, which is half the weight of glass, easy to fabricate, and shatter
resistant. But standard acrylic can scratch and often doesn’t have the chemical resistance necessary for
cleaning and maintenance. That’s why abrasion resistant ACRYLITE AR

Operable Walls offer an effective and efficient means of dividing space in hotels, conference rooms and
leisure areas.
These walls are ideally suited for an environment where the sound reduction quality is the essential
criteria.

SPECIFICATION
■ The panels are constructed with a solid particle board on an aluminium peripheral frame.
■ The panels are then filled with mineral wool and other sound obstructing sheets.
Y
■The standard minimum panel width is 650mm and the maximum is 1250mm although
specials can be manufactured if there is a particular requirement.
■There is no floor track with this system and the operable seals top and bottom give a 25mm
clearance of both floor and ceiling when fully retracted.
■The panels can be made to incorporate a pass door and up to 1 hour fire rated can be used.
■The edges of the panels can either be edged in aluminium or flush fit. This is important when
considering if the edges need additional protection.

not keep well so it is false economy to buy large tins.
Remember that paint dries to a darker color than it
appears when wet. When painting the fine details you will
need much smaller brushes. Use artist brushes, sizes 6
and 4 to start with and progress from there. Always try to
be consistent in the way you paint. For example, always
paint your leaves with brush strokes in one direction
only. Have a small pot of water at hand and also a box of
cheap cotton buds. Any paint excesses or errors can be
smartly wiped away with a cotton bud which has been
moistened with the water. All the colours used to
decorate the rose will need to be applied twice to give
sufficient depth of color. If dark colours are used then a
third coat may be required. Gold paint can be used in
small amounts to give highlights to ceiling roses. It is
amazing how a touch of gold can add an element of
grandeur to a rose. Gold paint is often oil based so will
need to be cleaned up with turpentine. Additionally gold
paint needs to be stirred frequently whilst being used.
Use only a small amount of gold paint on your brush as it
has a tendency to be quite runny and will be troublesome
to remove if used in excess.
You now should have a delightful addition to your
decor with an interior design project that cost very little in
comparison to the effect it will create in your room.

Carpets Cut & Uncut Patterned Carpet
Types of carpet construction •Intermixed loops and cut pile, creates a
patterned design
▪Carpet is basically constructed in two types of piles:
loop pile or cut pile.. •Loops are shorter than the cut pile creating a
carved appearance
▪Today's carpet manufacturers and fiber producers are
combining softer fibers and better built-in stain •Usually constructed in multi-color designs
resistance with special backings that block odors, spills •Helps hide footprints and traffic patterns
and more!
▪Most carpet today is tufted, rather than woven. The
tufting process is similar to using a large sewing
machine that sew the yarn into a synthetic backing. The
carpet are made from nylon fibers twisted into yarns and
then tufted into carpet.
Braided Rugs

yarn that are sewn together. The rugs are made from a
variety of synthetic and natural fibers, such as nylon,
wool, cotton, and polypropylene.

shape manufacturers now offer them in several
different shapes, such as square or rectangular shapes.
The smaller sizes are often referred too as throw rugs
or rag rugs.
