This letter comes is a full endorsement for Sergio Estrada Parra. Sergio was

among my top performing students in the Introduction to Chicano/Latino Studies

course (LLS 1020) at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He has demonstrated

the characteristics of a responsible and problem-solving orientated student. Mr.

Parra engaged with the class material in ways above the norm. Undergraduates

tend to summize yet Mr. Parra was analytical and thourough in his class

assignments.

What impressed me the most was his ability to connect Latino social

issues with his background knowledge in his major field. It is his curiosity, at the

intersection of the social sciences and humanities, that encouraged me to endorse

Mr. Parra. As a bilingual and bicultural student he easily conveyed his own ideas

while attentive to the lessons provided in our course. I am highly motivated to

College of Social
Science work with him in the future to help complete any special projects he might be a

Chicano/Latino part of.
