A bit about me

My name's Alasdair and I'm a UK-based freelance journalist and writer. I've spent years
trawling through jobs sites and social media looking for work... and now I'm doing it for
you too.

Every Sunday, I plan to put out a curated list of the best jobs and opportunities available
to freelancers like myself.

Method in the madness?

After last week's maiden newsletter a few of you asked how I decide which jobs to list.

Pay, unsurprisingly, is a big part of it. Very few of us can afford to work for free, so I omit
the most poorly paid positions - except when they involve a real niche that someone
might be particularly interested in, regardless of remuneration (like the Anime Herald
gig).

I also discard jobs that clearly aren't open or relevant to UK writers, as well as those that
don't provide a remote working option - UNLESS it's a particularly interesting role, in
which case the location will be shown in brackets.

I'm 100% open to suggestions on / criticism of this methodology!
