Future tenses

1. Future continuous tense

a. We use it for planned events at a specific time in the future (similar


to present continious)

Ex. She will be staying at her friend’s next week.

b. Polite and indirect questions:

Ex. Will you be staying for one or two nights sir?

c. Combined with still- Events that are already happening now and that
we expect to continue:

Ex. Unfortunately, sea levels will still be rising in 20 years.

Formation: subject+ will+ be+ verb-ing (present participle)

2. The future perfect simple-

Completed action or event in the future (projecting forward and looking


back)

Ex. By the time you get home I will have left

Formation: subject+ will + have been+ verb (past participle)

3. The future perfect continuous-

How long an event will have been in progress at a specific point in the
future
Ex.In November, I will have been working here for ten years.

Formation: subject+ have been+ verb-ing (present participle)
