1. What is the focus of strategic planning?

Attainment or achievement of the organization’s vision, mission, goals, and
objectives is the main focus of strategic planning utilizing the right people, good
data, preparation, a structured process, and adequate resources of time and money.
Strategic planning is crucial to one’s organization because it provides a sense of
direction, a road map that outlines objectives, strategies and its implementation to
attain the aforementioned goals.

2. Explain how the following are integrated in a successful strategy:

a. Future oriented but flexible

Successful strategic planning looks at a long-term plan but prepared to be
adjusted from time to time depending on the needs of the organization and its
customers or clienteles, changing contexts or situation as well as the results of
the feedbacks gathered from the stakeholders.
b. Analysis of internal & external environment of the organization
Successful strategic planning involves not only the internal stakeholders
such as the executive, administrative, and managerial personnel in terms of their
performance, competence, and character but as well as the analysis of the

external environment such as the competitors offering the same product of

service, feedbacks from visitors and monitors, and current trends and issues that
may affect the operation and performance of the organization.
Good strategy, in order to succeed, requires good implementation. That
is the reason why an organization should not stop at planning but also be
motivated to execute plans of action.
c. It is ideas-driven process
Before strategizing, an organization must opt to gather information.
Good strategy requires good input, and this includes the analysis of internal

(goals, objectives, human resource and management, culture in work

environment) and external situations (government, weather and climate as well
as the movement of the people and even the technological trend.)
Functioning and operation of an organization must be ideas-driven
process based on research and not on hearsay or on fake news. The information
that should circulate and be utilized by the organization must come from reliable
sources so that the results should be valid and reliable also.

Everything in an organization is ever-changing. While being prepared through

having a futuristic perspective and even a smooth back-up plan, it is not
uncommon for an organization to face challenges and issues along the way. If
properly utilized, or shall we say, if an organization’s threats are turned into
opportunities, the possibility of that organization’s growth is likely to happen.
Successful strategic planning integrated all the different factors like right
people positioned properly, reliable data used, structured process, and adequate
resources properly utilized in order to create a well-crafted strategic plan.
